Yeah, that's how I felt at Spring Mountain a few weeks ago.

Roger that. Haven't decided yet which events I'll be attending, though.

Thanks man, it was the most fun I had yet at CVR. Hah, yeah (spin @ start/finish), although the spin initiated at T2 and continued thru T1.

Not sure why the car went sideways so much like that, as I took that T2 like I did on other laps, which were either uneventful or required only slight correction.

But, again, had I transitioned the car a bit earlier (by lifting off the throttle, to get the tail to tank-slap the other way), I could've connected that T2-T1 S-turn. :P

lol, that's track sticker of Spring Mountain.

As you know, I was there on 10/5 and, it being a first visit, it wasn't easy to memorize all the curves at that track and a track buddy happened to have the SMMR track sticker, so I put it on at near eye level. But, the west side of the track has SO MANY turns and the sticker was so tiny that it proved to be unhelpful, and I just didn't bother removing it since.

Lookin' good Randall! Did a PCA event practice day at the beginning of the year. Only time I ever put an X on the back of my car Biggest difference was the paddock, what with all these high priced pop out motor homes and trophy wives running around

Thanks buddy. Yeah, saw the motor homes, but no wives, trophy type or otherwise.

You still have your M3, or you moved onto another car?

Supplement: found a footage that should've gone into the original video

It was a practice day, so maybe a little more serious the day you were there! I.E. less distractions.

Picking up a GT-R in a few weeks, PPI is Tuesday. Still have those scrubs by the way. Couldn't bring myself to run those at Auto Club

I'm sure skxf430 can tell you more about PCA. I've run w/ them only once. Was gonna go to Spring Mountain this weekend (PCA Las Vegas event), but didn't feel up to it (did nearly 6 straight weekends of tracking).

PCA's price seems to be similar to BMW CCA's, which are both higher than Speed Ventures' & Extreme Speed's.

Naw, 'tiz ok. This set #2 that I have 2 days on should give me another 2 to 3 days. After that, I'm done w/ NT01. After I've had the taste of the kool-aid (TD's), I'm simply not impressed with NT01's.

Tell you what though, people talk about how MDM masks bad habits/lines/etc. It's similar when you've been running super sticky tires (TD's). Those tires will just grip and mask bad lines (like turning in early, which is evident a lot in this CVR video), and with NT01, the video clearly shows a ton of pre-apex oversteers.

Your not concerned with the inconsistency of the TDs vs the NT01s? I know you said great lap times first couple sessions, then a noticeable drop off with the TDs

Well, wish TD's are consistent... but, even when they drop off, they're still stickier than NT01's.

I've run with the PCA for years. They are going to be faster than BMW CCA because of the faster cars and be less strict than BMW CCA. Instructors only for the students/novices. The advanced group tends to bring out some hard core guys who come with cup cars, spec 911s, spec boxsters, and track GT3 RSs. Their pricing is lower than BMW CCA and is around or slightly less than Speed Ventures. For example, PCA SD is doing Buttonwillow for $275 for the whole weekend (versus $290 with Speed Ventures). You don't have as many asshats there who go off the track as much as other organizations. You don't have to be a member of PCA to go to any of the events. You should come to the PCA SD event at Buttonwillow on the 16th/17th.

pkim1079,

PCA puts together some nice events. I have driven with both PCA SD and GGR, in a Porsche and non-Porsche, and they usually have a nice mix of cars and people, and I certainly look forward to more events with them. Their red and orange group do attract quite a few racers but as long as you are aware of your surroundings than you shouldn't have any real issues, as long as your aren't holding up too many cars or acting unsafe on the track. The great thing about PCA SD in a TT event, is that every post your times to their website so you can see where you fit best. They will move people up and down a class in order to make sure they avoid people being in the wrong group creating a dangerous situation.

USC, I think you do have to be a memeber of PCA, but it isn't very much and they send you a monthly magazine which I enjoy reading anyway.

I have signed up along with a couple of buddies for the BW event on the 16/17

See you guys out there.
