So this is EVERYTHING needed to retrofit the CIC into a 2008 M3?

Anyone know how much coding usually runs to get Navigation up and running (I am assuming all I read about these retrofits needing coding is true)? I have seen a lot about Patryk's work on here, he seems like a good guy.

I can also code it to work perfectly.

My 2008 M3 has the CIC, Combox, Apps, SnapIn adaptor, video from ipod, sirius using the old 2008 tuner, + I added Internet access via bluetooth tethering from my iPhone and BMW Live

Everything works perfectly..

Many of you will not need the TCU as you may already have that installed. The monitor connector is a nice touch but is optional as the existing one can be used without issue.

The only thing that you will need is an activation module to allow the navigation system part to work, as it checks the VIN of the car, and the module makes that check pass.

It looks like everything else is there

Now if you get that + a combox then you'll have the amazing features from the 2011 and 2012 models like bluetooth streaming, etc.. And if you have the software in it updated to the latest version you will have satellite images on the navigation maps.

The CIC part of the switch is pretty easy and straight forward. I would rate it a 2 out of 5 stars in difficulty rating. Retrofitting everything like I did was a difficult process, but now I have conversion cable to convert cars with the TCU/MULF setup (08-10 M3's) to the Combox, without any wire cutting/soldering whatsoever. Completely plug and play.

But once it's done it's a world of difference over the older CCC unit. I've been meaning to make a thread about the swap and have tons of pictures, but haven't had any time lately. But trust me its worth it!

Do we have to be local for the coding or just send you parts?

Guys,

The item is for sale again. For everyones information, Mazada3ndp originally made contact with me and we agreed on a price. A payment was sent over paypal but like he mentioned, something came up on his side and he had to back out.

I’m trying to clear up a few paypal things, but a refund has been granted to Mazda3ndp.

With that being said, the item is back up for sale. For those I have been in contact with over PM, feel free to contact me if you would like to continue a transaction.

Thanks guys and I apologize for all this.

Is this still for sale? I'm interested if it is.

Question - looks like the equipment is there, but how much is coding + maps for the car? I've been looking to do this for awhile, and I recall that coding can cost a bunch, and maps are an extra $200?

The unit is still available although there are a few people very interested in purchasing the kit.

As far as cost, the cost varies from coder / installer

Received a few inquiries about CIC coding..

Will respond by the weekend's end.

Glad you were able to sell it. It really is a sizeable upgrade over the CCC, especially when Combox is added to the mix.

Those interested in coding for CIC, feel free to contact me.

Thank you
Mike

If there is anyone local to Socal that is looking for a CCC to CIC swap, let me know...

A friend of mine has a 2012 CIC + Screen + Controller + Combox that he is willing to switch for a CCC + cash.

That means BMW apps and everything.

That's my previous CIC system pictured, no coding is required since you have our CAN-interceptor. CIC is US model.

Maps should be 2010 date. Quick and painless to install.

GLWS!
