For Sale: Musicar Full Bass Upgrade Package for E92
For Sale: Musicar Full Bass Upgrade Package. Used in my E92 M3 for less than 1 year, absolutely perfect condition! If you feel the stock Enhanced Premium Sound system is lacking, this set-up will give you the Bass and the sound you need. Installation is very straight forward, hook up the +/- wires to the battery and connect the plug and play harness. The OE-Look enclosure for a 12-inch woofer perfectly fits in place of the battery access door, it allows you to add the high-performance subwoofer without losing cargo-floor area. It’s easily removable in case access is required and wrapped in hand-dyed trunk liner to match the BMW material. I paid over $1,200 for the entire system, I'm looking for $699 w/Free Shipping and Tracking. No additional fees for PayPal. Company Info: Musicar Northwest Portland, Oregon World-class Audio and Electronics Integration Home of Tom Miller, 2014 Installer of the Year. Selected as one of the Top 12 Retailers in North America in 2014 by Mobile Electronics magazine musicarnw.com Per Musicar, the Full-Bass upgrade package does the following. It does three things: - It tightens up the midbass attack and accuracy from the underseat woofers - It adds one of our OE-Look subwoofer enclosures in the passenger corner, with a 12" sub tuned for accuracy, not thump. The OE-Look enclosures use hand-dyed upholstery to match the factory trunk liner (which is not available in the US off of the roll) - It filters out the sub-bass notes from the underseat woofers and routes them to the new subwoofer The parts we use in this upgrade are: - A high-voltage Audio Control LC2 interface prewired to a plug-in integration harness - A JL Audio XD500/3 3-channel amplifier (75x2 and 300x1) - An Image Dynamics ID12 subwoofer loaded into our OE-Look enclosure. The 3-channel amp sends around 55 watts to each underseat woofer, and then 300 watts to the sub. The underseat woofers are 7 ohm-impedance drivers, so they don't get the full 75 watts per channel that the JL 500/3 can deliver into a 4-ohm load. The crossover filter in the amplifier is set to attenuate all the notes below 55 cycles or so, and the subwoofer comes in at about 65 cycles. This whole setup allows you to set the Bass control and the EQ sliders in the EPS menu back to center, and then tune them for a given song. Right now you probably have them up - everyone does - and when they are boosting the bass, they are asking the factory amp to work much harder. The result is limited headroom, and distortion during bass peaks. That all goes away after you add a Full-Bass setup. This doesn't counteract any of the stock factory processing, it just adds the missing sub-bass and improves the accuracy of the mid-bass, while making the amplifier's life easier. To answer a few questions, installation is very straight forward; connect -/+ cables to the battery, connect the single amp remote wire to a switched power source. The Musicar harness connects to the stock amplifier, everything else is plug and play. Wiring is routed under the trunk side panels, the amp and LC2 mount under the trunk floor cover. Once installed, everything looks completely stock, even the Subwoofer enclosure material matches the BMW material perfectly. I have had very little experience with car stereo installation; I replaced a few older in-dash units. The installation of this system was very easy for me.
I searched high and low for an M3 that was loaded and had the Enhanced Premium Sound System. Although the system is good, I felt it was lacking. Musicar Northwest solved this with thier Full Bass Upgrade package. It removes the sub-bass notes from the underseat woofer, sends them 75×2 from the new amplifier, routes sub-bass notes solely to the trunk sub and powers it with 300 watts for improved musicality and accuracy in the midbass. I have sold my M3 and now have this entire package for sale, it was in my car for less than 1 year. Last edited by Slammo; 03-17-2016 at 01:10 PM.. |

Since I don't have EPS and already have an amp, let me know if you eventually consider selling just the sub/enclosure.

I don't know, I'm not sure if it would be compatible. Maybe someone on the forum could chime in. |

Also I'm not 100% sure if the harness will be the same for all cars with EPS, probably best to double check with Musicar.

Hi, I'm interested in everything but the sub and box, are you willing to split ?
I have an E90 with EPS so I think everything would be compatible, but the 12" sub and box won't fit my car. Thanks |

Possibly. I do have someone who is interested in the entire package, if that falls through, I'll let you know.
