Testing out '12 135i vs 08 m3
Hey guys me and a buddy decided to mess around on a legal racing road, were no one was around for miles, and we did some pulls from 15 mph... I have a 2008 BMW m3 base model, rpi axleback, bmc filter, rpi scoops, claims 360whp on the dynojet at eas. He has a 2012 BMW 135i with jb4 beta test, charge pipe, downpipes, exhaust. all i know is he was around 380tq. We did one pull he pulled 1-2 car lengths up to around 80-85 we stopped because of a bend in the road. we did another run i pulled in beginning then he caught up and then got me again. Now is this the way it should turn out? i have a 6mt he has a dct, he told me to get front pipes and a ecu flash, and then go back for some more runs, i even thought of a pulley kit. He will be getting meth injection soon as well, and we are going to be curious on the results. These runs were done uphill btw! Let me know if you guys think the results should have been differ or if i had more mods may have been easier for me to pull, i think if dct was in my car wouldve been different but then again, 6mt is the way to go.
I was also thinking of what the results would have been if we ran up to lets say 120mph or maybe even 140mph he said i should start to pull on him but jb4 is pretty insane.

Seriously though.. don't bother trying to keep up with a 135i + JB. They are seriously quick particularly when at altitude. My opinion is that these N54/5 owners who push things this hard will pay for it in the long run, so reliability is certainly a trade off. But if you want to go fast, I have to say you're better off modding an N55.

With the direct injection, his valves are going to look like crap soon.

Apparently it's legal to race on roads that don't have people around for miles. As for the outcome, it sounds about right especially considering he's DCT and you are 6MT. Don't forget the 135i is also a good 200-300lbs or so lighter than the M3.

Lol i cant give away my track area, but yes, i did think a bolt on m3 meaning full bolt ons could take a 135i, guess i was wrong!
