I totally understand the reasons for using the colors. In chinese culture gold signifies wealth and happiness and red is for good luck. If anything else that is what probably what the owner is going for. If it's built as a show car it makes sense specially out there. I say props for being daring and different. Who knows it could become a trend. Plus I'm sure he can just wrap it in frozen black when he wants to give in to peer pressure.
