Anyway, to the OP, check out this video just posted a few days ago: www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=258026

Just watch for a few minutes and you'll definitely see the adaptive tails in action. Personally, I think it is a novel and useful feature. Although other drivers would probably just think they were the regular taillights.
Check you M3 manual mate

i feel that the adaptive tail are useful in city driving however you know on the highway when people are just driving and all of a sudden a lot of traffic comes up. Some people put their flasher on and i feel it gets the attention of the people behind you faster than the adaptive tail lights would in that situation.

Blinking tailights are a common feature among taxi drivers here in Athens who think they are F1 drivers!

Anyway, I wouldn't add it to my M3

well, i checked the manual, and it doesn't say anything...but i did some more research, and you are correct. it doesn't have to do with pedal pressure but, instead, has to do with deceleration.

when the anti-lock brake sensors detect deceleration in excess of 5 meters per second^2, the extra lighting is triggered.

Unfortunately, its illegal to drive with flashers on in Florida. Is it legal in your state?

What I was saying is if you do the rear fog light upgrade it does not 'disable' the brake force functionality. If your fogs are off your brake force should work fine. If your rear fogs are already on then no I don't think they will get brighter. Keep in mind you probabally won't/shouldn't keep your rear fogs on all the time.

BTW, I don't understand why it would be on any build sheet, this is a standard option on all M3's and to my understanding it is refered to as Brake Force Display.

I think what he's saying is it is on the window sticker, which displays all std. and optional equipment, along with all the other required information, such as MSRP, estimated fuel mileage, etc.

The fashers are to tell drivers behind you that you are stopped in the middle of the highway (or close to it)

I consider it to bevery helpful, I always do it.

Ok. that makes sense then. Thanks. (I just installed the rear-fog light mod, but honestly, haven't had to use them yet as its not rainy season here yet.)

Don't know if Brake force display has been activated for the UK market but we do have auto hazzard lights on, after severe braking.
If you stomp the brake pedal, (basically panic mode and certainly beyond anything you would use even with spirited driving) then the hazzard warning lights come on. For motorway/freeway driving this must be a massive safety benefit.
