Thanks and congratulations on a very well engineered and appealing design.
I love that Apex wheels are made for these cars!
Thanks. That's what we're here for.

Here are some pics that were just taken!

EC-7 in Anthracite Finish. These were the test wheels we had available it's not the ideal stagger, and the tires are mounted in reverse.

18x10" ET25 with 275/35/18 R888
18x11" ET27 with 295/30/18 R888. Note the car had a 10mm spacer in the rear from the stock wheels, which was stuck. These photos are basically of an 11" rear with an ET17 offset because of this. It should not be run with a spacer in the real world.

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I have a 2008 E92 with EDC. I'll add that it came with the 220M 19" wheels, in case any factory adjustments were made for those.

I have 275/35R18 Dunlop Direzza Star Specs mounted on your ARC-8 10" wheels. I added Ground Control camber plates, but I'm still on stock springs. The outside part of the front tires rubbed the wheel well liner both before and after camber plates.

My front camber is currently -2.5 and the rubbing occurs a little past half of the steering range. When I turn the steering wheel left, the outside part of the left tire rubs against the back of the wheel well. When I turn right, the outside part of the right tire rubs against the back of its wheel well.

Switching to 265/35 should give me 5mm less protrusion along the width of the tire and 3.5mm smaller radius. I'd need to know where the pivot for the wheel is to say exactly how much smaller the arc of the tire will be, but if it buys me something like 6mm of additional clearance, that might be enough.

Very nice!

I hope to find someone with a 265/35 tire on a 10" ET25 wheel that will let me do a test fit. Maybe at the track, this weekend.

As soon as I can be reasonably certain I can avoid rubbing at your recommended size, I'll be ordering a set!

265 on a 10" or 9.5" would definitely not rub.

fender liners are not perfectly molded or consistently attached. Star Specs are not that wide compared to new tires these days and others running significantly meatier tires have not had rubbing issues. Almost everyone running our 10" wheel is on meaty 275's. It may be worth checking to see how your liners are installed as something seems out of spec.

I just may pull the trigger on these. If I wanted to run 18x11 rear, could I fit 305's? I've seen a lowered E92 fit 305 on 19x11et28, and the EC-7 are et25. Please let me know (I am at stock ZCP height and may go lower in the future on coilovers)

That will need fender rolling and extra negative camber. How much is needed we could not confirm.

Eddy,

Ordered my EC-7's now the wait....

Can you tell me if NT05 275/35 and 295/35 fit on EC-7 9.5" and 10.5" ZCP E92 stock without rubbing? Is this a prefered fitment over RS-3 265/285 for track days?

Thanks!

Yes that NT-05 combo will fit a stock car. We prefer the RS-3 tires to the NT-05. Even though they are narrower, I would be more confident with the Hankook offering

The last day to join is the 26th!

The concave (M3 fitment) EC-7 wheels will be arriving mid August, and will ship out a few days later. They should be here in about 3~ weeks.

Eddy,

Will there be any problems rubbing if I run the Michelin PSS 275/35 on 10" ET25 square setup? Car is otherwise stock. If you can, let me know by tomorrow! (the 26th)

A square 18x10" ET25 EC-7 running 275/35-18's will have no issues rubbing. That is the combination we recommend most to E9X M3's looking for a square set-up and it is a direct fit.

We didn't reach the $200 tier, so everyone received the $100 off and free domestic shipping, or discounted international shipping for this EC-7 Pre-order.

Be careful on this. That's exactly what I have on a 2008 E92 EDC car and the wheels do rub at 5/8ths of the turning range against the back of the wheel well. Not a big issue for track, but I don't use that wheel/tire for street. The tires are Dunlop Direzza Star Specs.

I am running -2.5 front camber with GC camber plates, but they also rubbed with stock setup. The shop where I had the alignment done seems pretty good, but I have yet to get a second opinion about whether there's any reasonable way to avoid rubbing.

I have heard of a couple other people rubbing with 275/35R18 up front, but I don't know what offset or whether their setups differ in any other way from mine.

hmm.
anybody ever tried a 18x10 all around with a 285/30-18 rubber on it?

Sounds like a plan, doesn't it?

Depends on the fitment you ordered, its best to call them with your specifics and find out from the source. When I last spoke to them, they said they have my rears, but "due to an unexpected delay in shipping, your fronts will not be coming in until the end of August".

BRB missing booth exposure at Bimmerfest because Apex had an unexpected delay in shipping.

I apologize for the inconvenience and any miss communication or misunderstanding regarding delivery dates. The pre-order checkout page stated an ETA of the month of August with no specific time within that month. This was done because all the wheels cannot fit into a single shipment, so some sizes will arrive before others. 4 separate shipments staggered approximately 1 week apart are scheduled to arrive this month.

Prior to the pre-order closing we could not be specific about arrival dates and could not really promise specific ETA dates besides a general "August" arrival date.

The pre-order checkout page listed the following information:
http://www.apexraceparts.com/EC-7-Pr...Buy_p_154.html

Quote:
Ship Date:
  • Wheels are scheduled to ship out to customers throughout the month of August based on the current ETA
  • Wheels are arriving in 4 separate containers spaced out approximately
  • Some profile 1 and 3 wheels will be arriving the 1st week of August
  • Most profile 3 wheels will be arriving mid August
  • Additional profile 1 and 2 wheels will be arriving mid-late August
  • The last container with most profile 2 wheels will be arriving on the last day of August as scheduled. This is the only container that may experience a minor delay of up to 1 week
  • We will update this page with more accurate dates as we get closer to the arrival date
  • Currently the ETA is accurate to +/- one week
We have two new sales staff who are not as intimately familiar with the details of these shipments as I am. One of them started 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure who you spoke to, and I apologize that they were unable to fully explain the situation to you at the time.

They were informed that the last of the 4 shipments is behind our ideal schedule, but they were unaware of when we promised to ship wheel orders out. Stating the month of August including a +/- 1 week buffer disclosed on the purchase page is as accurate as we could promise at the time for a pre-order of over 2000 units of production, since most variable are out of our control.

Once again I apologize that you will not have your wheels in time for Bimmerfest East, but I assure you will are shipping out product immediately after receiving these large shipments and inspecting them for quality.

Thank you for your understanding,

-Eddy Pintacsi
