There is no such thing as a Euro S52...

The US-spec E36 M3 engines were the S50B30 USA (1995) and the S52B32 (1996-1999)

The Euro-spec E36 M3 engines were the S50B30 (1995) and the S50B32 (1996-1999)

The S50B30 286HP engine you are thinking of...was the original 1992-94 M3 3.0 liter...

Well, so far this thread contain nothing accurate nor informative, sounds more like boasting to me. "I know something and you don't"

It is 420 lbs and not 600 lbs (vs 3570 lbs for the standard coupe). Remember, E46 CSL weighed around 350 lbs less than the standard E46. The E46 CSL has a 7:50 lap time with only 355 HP. If I add another 15 seconds, it will be slower than the E46 CSL. With 130 more HP, it is very likely to be around 7:33.

For a thread that is supposed to waste people's time there is a large number of meaningless posts being made.

Cazzo che roba.

Close, it was 363 lbs.

And it had 360 HP (DIN)

Thanks. 355 HP was SAE rated.

Here are just a few of the reasons I was told by the United States BMW M division chief (Larry Koch):

*US historical pricing structure (limits the pricing options for a special edition model here)
*Emmisions compliance (can't pass emmission...can't be sold in the US)
*DOT safety regulations (can't meet the minimum automotive safety requirements...can't be sold in the US)
*Overall manufacturing costs (limited production cars cost a fortune to build per unit)
*Vehicle certification and crash testing costs $$$$$$

And that's just for starters...

This is why GT3's cost 130k here in the USA.

Oh man, those specs are way too close to real life lol. If this is what Mr. Savage is speaking of. I don't care about the tease. Still though, if would be nice if u had some news about BMWNA offering something spectacular to us who already own an m3

This is why GT3's cost 130k here in the USA.
Gt3's are $112,000 here and 82,000 pounds in GB... at current exchange rates $112,000 x .6136 = 68,800 pounds. Everywhere else in the world pays alot more for cars then us.

Which is actually completely irrelevant because we are the biggest market... So they can sell more cars are less profit here.

The fact is BMW didn't/doesn't think we will buy a stripped out m3 (because we didn't when they offered a LTW e36 to us).

Good news is its likely BMW has seen the light due to the sales success of the gt3. If we have seen anything recently we know bmw is willing to pile onto trends which porsche has had success with (ie 500+hp SUV).

Because of the GT3, I would be very surprised if we saw another CSL and it didn't make its way to the US.

I partially agree. You are right about the complexity of BMW's marketing and so on.
But,pls take a look here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...&highlight=csl
more than 99.000 views for something that should not be sold in Usa looks amazing to my eyes. In other words I mean that a "good new" should be always a good new for real Bimmers, not? Just my opinion.

And the surprise is the M3 will get run-flats just like the X5 M...oh, and a "real" automatic transmission...none of that DCT crap.

I'm amazed that today it's top secret and next week it''ll be reality....so why not just tell us?

I have a big surprise also, but you'll have to wait until the week of December 9th to 15th...2074. Only 65 more years.

Arrow Sorry, have to beat Savage to the punch...it's....

A new injection system that has been mentioned in other threads quite alot but nobody seems to have put two and two together. I had a long talk with BMW factory reps the other day. They will come out with more changes than anyone is expecting with the LCI version coming in the Spring. Two things...first, the white M3 seen on the ring with the big "ugly" wing on the back that everyone was complaining about will become a reality. It is going to be limited production but from what I was told from "those in the know" at BMW corporate, it should be available as an option by the summer known as "HSP" or Hyper Sport Package. It will also include a special "aero nose cone". The injection systems is known as "KERS" or "Kerosene Enriched Rocket Solution". This solution was a real breakthrough and was developed in conjunction with NASA. BMW has estimated that these breakthroughs when combined will yield sub 10 second quarter mile times and shave at least 10 seconds off current ring times.

Well, I hope that clears everything up for all of you so now you don't have to wait for NOV 3 -8!

Cheers

Hello Davo, these are great news. I don't feel any competition with you or others so no problems by my side. I just got a complete list of details by someone in Motorsport. Someone famous enought.I already told that I can't share at the moment these details, but someone still doesn't understand that I have a verbal agreement...with that man. And that simply I CAN'T...Now.
But Davo sorry I have got different kind of informations and so I would say that only the time will tell the true.
best regards
