Arrow TE37SL's - Why do some SL's have more lip area than others?

Not sure if it is just the angle of these pictures but I was browsing through the TE37SL thread and noticed that some of the TE37SL's have a lot of lip area whereas on others the spokes seem to come up closer to the outer edge of the wheel (less of a lip). I even checked the sizes and all of them seem to be in the 9.5" +22 and 10.5" +20 range. Not sure what's different? Is one set just more concave than the other with similar offsets? Here are some of the posts that I was looking at:

Less Lip, More Concave

That doesn't make sense. Why would the dia change the amount of lip area? Should be more a result of offset or concavity if anything? Just to clarify, by lip area I am referring to the deep dish look some wheels have where there is a lot of free space from the outer face of the wheel before you hit the base of the spokes. See illustration below

I am aware of what you are talking about and what i said is still correct. The first pictures you posted are all 18s and the second set are all 19s. The pic in your illustration are 19s. The 19s have lips where the 18s have less of a lip but more concave. I know this for fact. Different sizes, different designs

It has very much to do with a combination of size/offset and design.

Here is a diagram from the Rays Engineering web site of the TE37SL side profiles.

Thanks. Wasn't aware of that. So 18's in the SL's will always have less of a lip?

18in TE37SL will have a concave face, while the 19in versions have a flatter face and a bigger lip. This has always been the case when you go to a 19in TE37 compared to the smaller sizes.

Great. Good to know. I had them on my Carbon Black E46 and I thought they looked amazing. Wasn't so sure for my current Space Gray but I think it'll look good

Why do you guys like the 18's? I was going to get a set of 19's and I'm curious why you all picked the 18's.

Better for the track. I prefer the look of the 19's as well. 18's look great but you need coils to pull them off imo. I'll upgrade to coils when my EDC shocks are done.

19" tires cost more too and there are no R-comps as I understand it. I really like the 19" size but I'd probably end up with 18s so I can run them on the track.

That's depends on where you look. I have a set of 19s. 295/30 and 255/30. I picked up a set of new PS2s for the front @ Discount for $600ish for both, and $550 shipped for the rears from a guy on ebay that was reselling them after they came off P-cars. Tires only had 400 miles on 'em, had virtually no treadwear, and still had the rubber nipples on them. I see him selling often, so I'll pick up another set in the near future to store them.

I have the OEM 18s for when I decide to track it.

I don't know about the bumpiness part. I really don't notice any more or less of a harsh ride, but I put on GC coilovers at pretty much the same time as the bigger wheels.

This is how I feel exactly. I'm going to try tracking for the first time next month. I figure if I like it, I'll probably only go a few times a year so the 19's won't make too big a difference for me.

Thanks everyone for your input!

for the 19's there is also a 19x9.5+21 in addition to the 19x9.5+22. The +21 offset will give you a larger lip in the front as well.

Yep. The ET21 is the new offset to have the front lip match the rear lip.

In these pics, you see the older ET22 offset and you clearly see that there's massive lip in the back and almost none in the front:

Here is my set with the new ET21 fronts:

Did you also know that the 19s have a long groove on the inside face of spoke and the 18s don't? Seems like a very cool weight saving measure for the 19s.
