Serious thing...I will call tomorrow to see if Karts at MSRH will be open Fri evening between 4pm-dark. Also will ask if I can drop my stuff there Fri evening as well. I will post the answer.
Of course...likely not a problem for you lucky SOB's that live in Houston. About your lube question...you will need to change things more often. Its all the heat and friction that will break the lube down, make things sound funny and eventually scream in pain.

So...tires. On street tires for my sport-bike, a typical motorcycle track day would involve about 110 miles of actual riding, but burn ~2,000 miles of wear. Is there a quasi actual/wear equivalent to these Michelin PS2's that people use as a guideline? Oil = cheap. Tires = not so much! .

Depending on how hard you drive in the corners, the PS2s should hold up fine.
On my old car with PS2, it held up to alot of abuse (hot summer) and typically the outside of the tires wore more (lack of camber) I kept the PS2 at 38psi hot and seem to work great until the end of the session when it got greasy. |

You'll probably see the most wear on the outer edges of your front tires. Generally your front tires take more of a beating. Which works out because your rear tires wear out faster on the street.

That will be the perfect location for you to tell me if my front tires are getting too worn. P.S. I just drove out there to take a look first-hand at MSRH. Nice place! Long track, variety of turns. I've done several track days at MSR Cresson with sport bikes, and it's going to be fantastic to do something completely different (with a car) at a different track. .

IMO MSRC is a much more difficult track. Lots of off camber turns coming off of fast straights, more elevation changes, and more subtle camber in the turns. Especially the 3.1 mile course...that took me 2 full weekends to get it down. Oh...the 1.7 in the rain? That was quite an adventure... I've got to get the launch down CW. I was white knuckling it every lap the one time I ran CW...even did a little off roading.

Gah! I hate to sound like a newbie on a public forum...but here goes:
Think MSRH would allow a run down the Front Straight to try out the Launch Control function? For the first time, I'd prefer to try that in a controlled environment instead of a back-country road with the potential cow/tractor/UFO collision. .

That was a finely executed lane change.

Paid and ready to go. Glad I flushed the brakes two weeks ago in prep! Just ahve to decide if I'm going to change out my rear tires, or burn them to the ground and then change them out.
