FYI - RPI has scoops on sale!

I was looking on the M5board this a.m. under the M3 section and they are advertising scoops for $75 because they have a "slight" blemish. I ordered them because I thought they would be worth a try given how cheap they are! Here's the link:

I had these installed the other day along with the AFE filter. There is a difference, but it isn't huge. The difference was enough for me to pull from a white CLS55 today from 60 mph (slighly, but enough of a difference to warrant, at that momet it was priceless).

I definitely hear more intake noise around the 2.5-4k rpm mark. I did not notice any difference when I first tried them in 93 degree weather. When I really started to feel something slightly extra was there was at night. The reponse with the filter is slightly improved as well.

For what its worth, RPI says that since the M3 has a cone style filter the ram air effect is not as pronounced as the flat filters in the 335 and M5/M6. Don't expect as large of a gain, but it is a worthwhile one for the price.

Considering ASR couldn't deliver, RPI is the way to go and they will include install for the price.

I think you got your filter types mixed up. 335 have cones and M3 has the rectangular filter.

Either way, nice freaking find because I was about to pay $200 for a set. I owe Barry a beer

It was just mentioned in another thread that the scoops have a 1.5mm bend difference on the drivers side. In case anyone is worried about it I certainly wouldn't be. It would be impossible to quantify a performance decrease.

1.5mm bend on an intake scoop. Put that in the "I don't care" folder. Just ordered. Thanks Barry. I need to surf the M5board more often. Probably haven't been there since I was looking at buying an M5.

Yeah, I was thinking that too as I just ordered as well, but I paid with a CC that has full credit monitoring/fraud package on it, and it's the card that I use specifically for online purchases, so I've made my peace with it.

Great find!

I noticed that and had the same hesitation , so I plugged in my Ironkey and used put my info through their website forwarding. Not sure if that makes it any more secure, but it made me feel better at the time.
