MR/FR combo - anyone has it?
I will be ordering e90 this weekend and for the last two weeks was stuck choosing the right color combo. I've had cars with black leather for as long as I remember and want to get something different right now. Looking at BMW's generally boring interior (I spent last 5 years in e46...) and seeing pictures of extended FR it becomes a no-brainer for me. Now, the problem is that MR is my favorite exterior and I'm not convinced that two reds is a wise choice
Said that, I saw some great pics here - http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2252031. Anyone with this combo on the forum? How do you like it now after X months/years? |

there are a few on the forum with red on red. you could also go with the black with red inserts interior option as well.

Personally I'd stay away from the MR/FR combination, but to each their own. I would agree with the two-tone approach. I know some have concerns about it, but I think it is a natural. It actually makes the entire interior fit together imo as the door panels match the seats. In a FR interior, you end up with FR on the seats, but dash is in black and the door panels are two-tone. So two-tone seats fit in quite well with the overall interior. I ordered my car in the two-tone without having seen it in person (with MW exterior), and even the dealer hadn't seen one yet when it arrived. I'll say I was very pleasantly surprised by how good it looks. Give it some thought...

The JB/FR color combo gorgeous. MR on FR looks a bit too much for my taste.

Definitely post up pics when your car arrives... I'd love to see how this color combination looks. Most likely I'll be placing my order around the time your car arrives. Navin

Here you go. Loving mine. Wish it was the red from the E46, but it is still quite nice. If it were brighter in the interior, I think it would be a bit too much. That's why I went with the red/black combo.

I think it will look better modded not so much stock. Black wheels would really set it off

Thanks. I've already got the splitters on it. Looking to do the black grille and gills. Probably powder coat the wheels anthracite or black while the winters are on it.

I'm more of a fan of the two-tone with the MR than it with the full Fox Red interior, the black frames in the seat inserts nicely so it doesn't quite pop between the exterior.. looking good rye M3!

Ordered MR / Extended FR. FR looks a lot better in a real life comared to all posted pictures. Seattle BMW has 2008 sedan with 23K miles on it with FR and it looks like new.
Interesting side note - according to CA this was their last allocated M3... |
