Finally, maybe this thread is a sanity check, to make sure that I'm not a total idiot to even contemplate such a move. Looks like, maybe no nuthouse for me just yet....
I don't think that you followed me on the second part. I agree with what you said above and cross shopping these cars makes sense. But what I was getting at is that you obviously aren't in love with the idea of the swap. If you're making a thread like this (i.e. REALLY on the fence), that's a BIG sign not to do it IMO. People always say to go with your intuition/heart/first inclination and none of those seem strong regarding this swap so my vote is no.

I don't agree. I have a brand new CTS-V Wagon with the suede steering wheel and the car/steering does not feel better in the V. I prefer the M feel without question.

Maybe there is a slight difference between the coupe, sedan, wagon in steering feel. I know when I test drove the sedan that I was impressed with the steering feel. My M3 has nice steering as well, just a hair numb though.

Ha ha, no, but you never know what others are trying to compare. I just put it all out there, so hopefully there was no confusion......and there was anyway.

The stock bratwurst ///M steering wheel is king.

I test drove the coupe and I think it was similar to the wagon, but who knows.

To me, there is more to "steering feel" than just the weight/feedback you get in the wheel itself. The M feels light/agile although it is not. To me that means the steering feel is superior to the V. I'm sure the M suspension, weight distribtion, etc. has everything to do with this.

I would imagine your friends asking "does it come with wood paneling?" It is a wagon man..... if you need a wagon, that is the car to get for sure.

You just got the M3... what are you missing ? Torque? Space or what?

I think you are going to take a bath on this cash wise. The M3 will hold its value a lot better ...

Don't do it.

So what... who cares. You are driving a really nice M3. Just enjoy it and drive the F out of it.

I read everything in your first post OP, was going to reply with my opinions of the vehicle but then you wrote;

'- Everything is coming out of my own pocket, same as my previous BMWs'

Who gives a f*ck?

*wrote out a bunch of other shit but it got wiped so I'll leave this here*

Honestly think about it. No ones going to want a red 6sp supercharged gas gussling station wagon. Id say get what you want. I am also looking to get rid of my m3 and pick up a V. I want a black diamond

I did an extended test drive of both the V wagon and coupe, at a GM event. It was unsupervised and I had each one for 20+ minutes. I personally would never buy either. That wagon is a big boat, and feels like you're driving a school bus. I'm not even sure why it's compared to an M3. The auto trans was terrible IMO.

I hope you take a long test drive, if you're seriously considering it.

LOL, I would trade my car for an M3 in a second. I'm just saying, its a 3700lb car w/ a big v8 (a BEAUTIFUL v8) in it. Nothing new and honestly is not special, nor is my car. Took that a little personal did ya? And I would argue the fact that I see probably 5-6 (actually probably more) m3's per 135 and my car will eat a stock m3 for lunch, that adds to the cool/special factor.

I don't see either in the area I'm in unless I head south to bellevue, seattle area. One thing that detracts from the 135 is that my gf thinks they are sooo cute and wants one.
