Question on new iDrive/USB...

The new iDrive apparantley has extra MB to store songs...does it have a stand-laone USB slot to upload songs or do you still need the iPod/USB option to enable upload of songs ?? This is $500 option and frankly I don't use iPod so not interested in the option but if that is the only way to upload/ store songs in new iDrive, will have to get it.....appreciate any feedback

Search for posts on the new iDrive features. I believe that music can be loaded from a USB port in the glove compartment or be ripped from a CD.

Music can be loaded on to the internal hard drive 3 ways:

1. It can be ripped from a music CD
2. It can be copied from a Mp3, WMA or AAC data CD or DVD
3. It can be copied from a USB memory stick in the glovebox. This is a different USB socket to the 6FL option.
