Can I trade in my leased X5 4.8is for new 08 M3 ?

Hello, I leased a 2006 X5 4.8is two years ago for a three year lease ending Nov 09. I got the last loaded version of the E53 sport X5, great truck but getting tired of it, and would like to get back into an ///M car, last one I owned was a used 01 E39 Dinan M5 = sweet car. But would love to get into a new E90 four door M3, either 08 or 09, but sure an 08 would be the best deal to be had ?

Is there a way for me to trade in the X5 with almost one year left on the lease and get a deal on a close out 08 ?

Thank you

pretty sure the dealership is not going to take it back early without some heavy penalty... your best bet would be to try to transfer the lease... use sites like swap-a-lease.

I think you'd have to pay the remaining sum on the lease left in full to trade it in.

You can't turn in any lease early without taking a beating. Try to get someone to take over your lease. I was in the exact same situation as you. Good luck.

Yeh, you will get killed on the trade in. With the economy, the Manheim auction value of your X5 will be alot less (5-10K) than your lease residual value. Your better off trying to get someone to assume your lease.

I did it

I returned a C-class for a new Ml350 (suv) early. i had a Four year lease, returned it in two years, picked up the new Ml-350 suv for 30 month lease, from same dealer of course. it was 600 a month total, but they charged a fee for returning the car early which was about 48 bucks a month x 30 months making my payment $648...not too bad. It was worth it for me to pay the extra $1440 to ditch the C-class and get into the suv. ask your dealer, they will do anything to reset your lease and guarantee a monthly payment from you

Three year lease, two years in, you need to hit atleast another eight payments and you should be able to walk even steven. Just be patient, any trade in thats upside down will be chewed up and thrown back in the ditch these days by any dealer. BMW is taking a beating on some of their lease returns. Your early in would be no different.
