Pulled the trigger - E90 M...at a discount!

So, I've been quite torn on committing to an E90 M3 order NOW (6MT), or holding off for the M-DCT. I've been in #1 slot w/ deposit for a couple years now with a small/low-volume dealer.

Well, allocation came up, I had decided to hold off. I let my dealer know. He then started talking price with me, perhaps to sway me to keep with the 6MT. We started at $1K off the already-agreed upon MSRP. Negotiations continued, and we closed at $2,500 off -plus- ///M floor mats! Pretty nice, ay?

Its been a great experience with the an honest dealer.

Week 14 productions - that's next week!

Fantastic!! $2500 is sweet.
Well done.

I think dealers know they are going to have to eat it to move sedans. Local dealers around me still have their E90s, but the E92s are gone.

Indeed, very nice job. But you should have held out for the M-DCT.

Thanks guys. Keep in mind, the discount was only for choosing to go now. Opportunity cost considered, that would have made the M-DCT a $5,200 option. Would you pay $5,200 for the new tranny?

Very good point, I was just ribbing you a bit. That option may be worth almost that much IMHO.

Nice job! I hope sedan sales remain flat. I want to get a nice discount on an E90 M-DCT next year.

+1 again.

I know that the dealer helping me has had low sales. I expect that by the time the sedan is available w/DCT (hopefully soon), that negotiation on price will be on the buyers side.

I'm not surprised. I'm in the Southeast and the BMW dealer locally has an M3 coupe still sitting on the showroom for sale. A slow economy plus a high sticker for a 3-series will equal discounts in many locales.
