iPad Charging through iPod Interface Cable?

Anybody here with the iPod interface in the center arm rest try to use its cable to charge an iPad? Any problems with charing the iPad this way?

it won't charge. IPAD need 10V. standard ipod/iphone car charge wont' charge either.
