Congrats to both of you (wretched Creature and M3Maniac20) .... I feel your pain, and have my own now. I live in Minnesota, where I've put my E92 (2009) away for the winter. I've decided to drive my 4x4 truck for the next 4-5 months. ..... so NO M3 for awhile. You guys are going to love your cars. again-- Congratulations

Thanks khelmin! I traded in my Toyota Tacoma, with a 2" lift, a few years ago. I still miss it! I'll get another one some day. I don't need it, I just love it.

Replace the 4x4 with a X5M or X6M and you wouldn't have to go through the seasonal withdrawl symptoms.

OC3 .... that's a good idea, except I need the 8,000 towing capacity for the boat. When BMW offers that, well I'm all in.

Ok ok, then instead of X5M *or* X6M, X5M *and* X6M

Funny enough, I was actually in the market for an X5 when I decided it was time to realize my dream of an M3. I'm currently trying to convince my wife that we need to replace our Lexus RX400h with an X5. Getting closer to it. Except now she's in love with our friends' Audi Q5. I'm working on the "too small" logic at the moment. Frighteningly, she really loves the cup warmer/cooler in the Audi. Ack!

lulz (cup warmer/cooler)

My wife's been hinting she'd want to trade in her Acura MDX for a X5M. It'll happen if & when I get a second job. Or, if she let me sleep w/ her hawt sister. Whichever comes first.

Heheh, indeed. I thought about this a lot but finally decided against ZCP for the following reasons:

1. The wheels that come with the ZCP package are beautiful but I've always loved the 19" Light alloy Double-spoke wheels which, to me, provide a more "classic" M look. It was a difficult decision.
2. This car will be my daily driver and I thought that the 10mm lower ride height wasn't necessary. M school is a definite yes so I will be going to SC prior to picking up my car. I do plan on taking the car out on the track occasionally but, again, I'll be driving this beast to work every day. I also wanted a ride that was a tad less stiff.
3. And, as a daily driver, I didn't want to give up on convenience features such as the moon roof.

Either way the decision was a compromise. I finally leaned toward the look I've always wanted and convenience/comfort. If this was a 3rd car (weekend/hobby) I might have gone a different direction entirely. In that case, I probably would have decided on the coupe, carbon fiber roof and ZCP.

Only 7 weeks and 6 days until touchdown!

I don't understand #3. You can get the moonroof and ZCP together. I'm getting both on my E90.

Good luck with the X5M/hot sister-in-law situation OC3!

Thanks dimabimmer!

I've been considering which options to include in this car for a very long time. When it finally came to pulling the trigger I decided that since I was jumping in, I might as well go all the way.

Love the new date analogy. It's exactly the kind of anticipation I'm feeling. That mixed with the way I used to feel as a kid on Xmas Eve. My wife has been a good sport but is starting to get tired of my obsessive behavior... and I still have over 6 weeks to wait!

Hey hbcpa,

Actually #3 was in response to a previous post by dawgdog and had nothing to do with ZCP. I was responding to a comment about needing more head room for a helmet on the track.

Congrats on your order! In addition to ZCP, what configuration are you getting?

Ok

I'm getting all the goodies except: smart phone, window shades and auto high beams. MR on Blk. I almost went with IB but decided not to since I currently have an Orient Blue 330CI.

Just got the production number for my car yesterday and am finally able to track the progress. So freakin' excited! I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed to see the actual progress. I know I won't get my car until mid-January but the waiting is killing me. Where's the Fast Forward button???

You may be surprised at how quickly they can get that car to you. I special ordered my M3 a couple of months ago and it arrived in 5 WEEKS! Funny, though. When my salesman called to tell me I almost threw up from the jolt of excitement. From order to delivery in 5 weeks??? I don't know how they did it.

I, too, vacillated on to ZCP or not to ZCP. Certainly, NOT having it will be a softer more comfortable daily ride. Good for you!

Haven't seen any updates on your car. Have you gotten it yet, or are you still waiting?

Khelmin,

Your timing couldn't have been better. My status changed just this morning to "Awaiting Transport"! To say I'm excited is an understatement. Still not sure how long I'll have to wait to pick up the car. But I've waited this long...
