I loved my E92, which I just traded last night for a Panamera GTS. I really wanted to like the M5, but you are right...it is big and it is fast and that's about it. The interior looks 90% of my wife's 535 GT.

consider getting xpipe, intake, tune and pulleys for your M3. Makes a noticable difference. I have them all and I had a salemen tell me it was by far the fastest M3 he had ever been in. Even better S/C it.

I completely agree with the OP. I was a 5 series guy until I had a few F10's for loaners, test drove the 550 M-Sport and then had the dealer give me a ride in the new F10. The F10 does have some nice features, Interior and the M5 was really quick but then I tried the M3 w/ DCT. It seriously took about 30 mins of driving the car to realize the 5 series was just getting too big and the ///M3 was not as small as I always thought it to be. Well that was until I put my hockey bag in the trunk......

Congratulations and welcome back to M3.

I have been considering getting back into another M3 (this time a E92) too. I had driven the F10 M5 and really like the dual personality of it, but like you mentioned, the M3 would still be a better all around car and perhaps more fun too. There are a few Edition M3s around my local market and I just wonder if those are worth the additional cost over standard M3s now.

Interesting you are saying that, I just read that the Honda Accord actually got smaller this year, and more nimble compared to the previous generations. I'm not trying to compare BMW and Honda head-to-head, but it's refreshing seeing a manufacturer actually trying to reverse the trend. Hopefully BMW gets the message one day, but so far they are still going the road of the bigger footprint and more disconnected drive.

One pulled up to me last night at a light (3 lanes into one). I didn't look over, and didn't realize what it was until we started moving again. I was quicker off the line; he must not have been ready to nail it when the light changed, considering it’s been tested at 3.7 to 60! Guess he does have an extra 500 pounds to budge, though. We hit traffic at the next light where the road widens back up and he took a far lane, ending up in front of me further down at the light for the nice, long on-ramp to the highway. Amazing how much pull that thing has! I couldn’t stay right on his tail on the ramp, and then he was being reckless in the construction zone so I let him go.

The power of that thing is amazing, but I can't imagine being in a heavier car. Ours are porky enough!
