Damn... What's wrong with cops now adays? I got my last ticket on Aug 14 for speeding. I was going 78 in a 65 (freeway) :mad: . What's wrong with BMW's and cops? are they haters? damn! I'm only 17 and got 2 ticket in less than 6 months. Does anybody know if they'll suspend my license? Over all I got 3 tickets within 1 1/2 years. My first ticket was running a redlight but I did traffic school for it. That was last year and this year I got the speeding ticket on 8/14 and today I got one for illegal right turn which I didnt know because lots of people done it!.

Oh the other thing was... This white girl did the same thing, she was driving a 00 camry and I think they let her go... WTF? Did I get the ticket cause im a young asian driving a bimmer? In the other hand.... I was driving a loaner too :mad:

dont feel bad, as long as you pay them you should be ok. your insurance in the other hand is gonna sky rocket. my first year driving, i had 8 tickets in 10 month. i didnt pay or appear in court for them. got my license suspend and almost revoke. my mom got a letter home rom the court , it said i had a warrant for my arrest. she ask me wtf is this?, we went to court for all the ticket. my fine was over 3k dollars, my driver license was on probation for 3 years, i had to file SR-22 (you had to own your own car with your own insurance or leave a $35,000 deposit to the dmv) my insurance for 6months liability was 2k. man did i learn my lesson. now i am 26 with a clean driving record for 9 years. so i live and learn big time. i dont think its the bmw, i think its bad timing. for me was just stupidity. lol........

But I am curious, it is rare for right turns to be illegal - was it at a stoplight with an prohibition?

Reminds me of what I went through just about 2 years ago.
I had 18 tickets in 24month period, fine totalling over $5000+. Not all of them were traffic violations though, few included small tickets like no front license plate, illegal color lights, bad parking, etc. I did not file SR22 however, thats a long story with my insurance agent(got my back). I don't know how I got away with everything so easily, but I did once get suspended for 4 months straight, freed for 1 month, than got suspended again for a month. boy, did that teach my lesson. After such struggle, I learned my lesson. 2 years since then, except for just one ticket I got recently(not stopping fully @ a stop sign. I almost stopped! damn it), I am doing good here. My record is also cleared up alot, if I wait one more year with no tickets, I should have less than 2 points on my record(highest I had was like 10 or something)

To my knownledge, your insurance will only go up IF they check your record by contacting DMV or pull up your most recent driving record information. Most insurance agents(popular/busy ones) do not do this since they got so many clients and its almost impossible to keep track of all of them. This is what my other insurance agent that I am very close with told me. I found this out when I wanted to try out a different insurance agent few weeks back.

As for suspension, IIRC, law in oregon states 3 traffic violation tickets in 6month period will cause 1 month suspension or something. don't quote me on that though. Its something real close to that.

Good luck with your ticket. I am telling you, and like longtran told you, do NOT screw up your record right now. Trust me. You don't want anymore tickets. It'll cause so much stress in your life. and I mean it. I just hope you don't have to go through what I had to go through. Young and dumb is no excuse when it comes down to driving.... I learned my lesson the hard way.

Ok, so it looks to me like you DO have some options here, like maybe walking?! SORRY! Anyway, if in fact they had someone pulled over for the same thing at the same time and they let that person go, you MIGHT have a case, but if I was you I would consult with a lawyer about it before I just paid the ticket, and the higher insurance for the next 2-3 years. If your 17 and driving a 325i, money for a lawyer can't be that big of a deal, a few $$ now or alot $$$$ over several years, like I said you have options.

I had 18 speeding tickets before I turned 18 y/o. I can't believe it myself now, but it's a fact. I thought the cops were "after me." The fact is, I was . . . . . . yes! Speeding! LOL!

The purpose of the tickets is to get your attention, and they did. Now try to learn your lessons so that you won't keep getting them. Despite feeling like they are out to get you (typical teenager reaction), they are not.

Also, women get out of many more tickets than men. It's a reflection on the fact that most cops are men and that men are idiots when faced with attractive women.

Imagine this world without cops enforcing laws. It'll be chaos.
Even though, some cops do abuse their power or make mistakes, and can be a little dick sometimes which isn't necessary. but hey, everyone has their days and human make mistakes.

the only advice i can give u is slow the fuck down and get a radar detector, check your rear view mirror every 10sec and scan your surrounding expressily onramps. oh yeh think of the consequence before u do something. if you dont then u deserve what u get, well if u break the law then u deserve it anyways...

You got a ticket because the cop saw you making an illegal turn.

Sounds like you are looking for an excuse because you were caught breaking the law. You seem quick to plead racism and ask what is wrong with the police nowadays. Now you tell your story here and want sympathy. You are responsible for your own actions - the world will continue to teach you expensive lessons until you grow up. This is a hard lesson to learn and it has nothing to do with driving a BMW.

I dont know how to explain it I have to draw it and post it. Pretty much what I did was go straight passing an intersection and turn diagnaly into a street. Right after getting out of the freeway the straight street is blocked and the only thing you could do is turn left or right, what I did was go straight and take a street that crosses diagnaly to the intersection. I don't think it's entirely your fault. Let's face it. Some cops use racial profiling (hopefully not BMW Lawman). Seeing that you were a young Asian driving a BMW (which he was probably drooling over in jealousy), he may have given you a ticket. Just be careful next time.

My car it's already 5200$ a year itself =T. I wonder how much is going to shoot up =T. I'm a 17 driving a Luxory Sport Sedan BMW.
