I missed it...had to pick up my car. My buddy said it was just an autocross for 2 hrs (which he finds pointless in general). Still much better than a "normal" test drive.

I think to date the best driving event I've been to was the Audi experience a couple years ago in VA. They had auto cross plus lead follow out at Summit Point.

They are on the same platform but the Focus has improvements. Also the Focus ST has torque vectoring. This is a better car than the MS3. Engine is also different. The MS3 uses the older 2.3l while the ST uses the newer Ecoboost motors.

Two other things I noticed

ST doesn't have torque vectoring. It only has a functionality as part of the traction control which simulates a torque vectoring differential by braking one wheel to create a similar effect.

The platform is similar to the Mazda as it was shared before. (Ford Focus, Volvo C30, V50, S40 etc., and Mazda 3 and 5).

But there are many changes compared to the Mazda so claiming it is the same car anyway is rather untrue.

Engine in the Focus is completely new and will not be shared with Mazda or Volvo on this platform.
