09 pricing after September

2010's can be ordered starting in Sept. What's your take on ordering an 09 or picking up a leftover? Any thoughts on how much you would expect to get off of MSRP? I've been shopping for an E90/92 and my friend is also shopping for an M3 but a cab.

One dealer got in a 2008 M3 Cab with 2k miles Drivelogic, heated Front Seats, Sat Radio Premium Sound and Ipod Adapter. MSRP new was $78,345.00 they offered it for $66,748.64.
How does that sound?

I would think that she could get it for under $60k

What would you expect to pay for an E90 09 leftover or one with <10k miles?
If MSRP is $68k then would you think is reasonable for a lot leftover?

Thanks.

$5k-$7k off MSRP sounds reasonable for a 2009 in Sept. For a 2008, I think $10k-$12k off MSRP sounds reasonable.

for 08, more like 13 - 15k off MSRP since BMW had 7500 trunk money on them.
for 09, UNLESS BMW offer trunk money, it'll be more like AT invoice (5-7k depends on the options). =)

Question is...BMW knows that they produced too many for 08, my CA told me that they cut back on M3 production and ordering. So how many 09 M3's are actually on dealer lots. When i went there were only a few 09.

Yep. The really good deals happened on the 08's in the first quarter of 09 because supply greatly exceeded demand, and that was likely the low point in this recession.

I don't expect to see that cycle repeated on 09's because production was cut, U.S. dealers ordered fewer on spec., and because the economy seems to be trending upwards, according to the general consensus of the financial wizards.

The best time to have scored a killer deal on an upscale car seems to have come and gone, at least for for the moment.

Yeah- really, 08 M3s in 1/2 half of 09 were the best deals.
It seems like used E9X M3 price went up a bit from looking at the autotrader and ebay (it used to be like 47-53k but now it's like 50-56k).

you guys are right, there aren't many on the lots. Very hard finding an E90 that i'm interested in. There is one on the lot down the street... the Only options are 19" rims and DCT.

Finding a fully loaded one has been tough, especially since I need to trade in mine. So looking cross country isn't an option.

i got pricing of 500 over invoice on ordered 2010

if 09s are only at invoice, doesn't make sense not to get the 2010 (if u can wait that is)

Good deal- I think that's the way to go. 2010 resale value will be higher than 2009 so it's worth waiting IMO.

wow you got 500 over invoice? Not bad. I didn't think 2010's were able to be ordered till Sept? My dealer said if i ordered right now it would be an 09 model year.

Yup, production drastically cut on 09's. With less on the 10's. Sometimes makes me wonder since this will be the last of the naturally aspirated M engines should I dive into this model because of the low production numbers.

+1

Thats what I've been saying on this forum for a past month or so. Glad I got my 08 before the uptick.
