Idk why everyone is saying it had to be modded extensively. Tune, exhaust and some sort of filter/intake and I'm almost positive it would give a good fight to an e93. e93's had trouble pulling on my S5 and compared to my e90 now, that thing was a dog.

G37 is a piece of shit. It's just trying to copy the 335 not the m3. They don't even make a direct competitor

I have a 08 G37 with a Stillen exhaust and Stillen Gen 3 intake. While it is a fantastic car, it is no M3. With the intake and exhaust i can keep up with a 335i, barely. I always drop behind slightly. There is no way it can beat an E9x M3, especially past about 40mph...
I'm looking forward to the M3 in 1 week! |

I assumed you haven't been in a Greddy twin turbo G, pushing more than 500rwhp. Even my procede 335i couldn't even catch up and I have nearly 400rwhp. A stock e9xx have about 330-345rwhp.

When my old 335i was stock, I had a nice pull with a g37s coupe once. It had pretty good acceleration compared to the 335, but the 335 definitely pulled.

I love these posts. It's almost like saying that a modded Honda Civic is better than a stock or slightly modded Ferrari 458 Italia because the Honda Civic has a honking huge turbocharger and thus puts down more wheel horsepower than the Ferrari.

+1... almost ANY car can be modded to whip the crap out of most stock cars... so what? The only relevant comparison is stock to stock.

I have both an E92 M3 and a G37s Coupe. NO comparison whatsoever. The M3 is better in every single minute detail, facet, and way. The fit and finish of the interior on the M is far superior and the acceleration is night and day. I can't even stand to drive the G37s anymore. When I do drive the Infiniti I can't stop comparing it to how bad it is compared to my old E92 335i let alone my brand spankin new 2011 M3!! I can't wait to get rid of that thing and get something else when the lease is up. Actually this G37s convinced me that I will not buy Infiniti again!

I thought the g37s are on par with the the 328s? Don't they cost the same? and the 328 rides and drives better? Do they really compare to an M3 or even a 335?

G37...are you kidding me.
I come from the Infiniti world, from multiple g35 coupes and experience with the sedans. My brother has a g37 sedan. I was probably the biggest bmw hater, until I drove one. In no way is a g37 anywhere comparable to an M3 stock for stock. Now if you want to add all the mods of course it may be faster than a stock m3 but I guarantee it won't feel as stable or as confident as a stock or modded m3. I feel like Infiniti did a really good job with the 3.7 motor as I really like the way my brothers g37 sedan drives, feels almost a little german lol. However, get it up to some higher speeds and the balance, stability, and confidence just isn't there. For the price point its a great car hands down and would highly recommend it, alot of bang for the buck. However, if you want to compare against an M3 or even a 335i, I don't see it. I know its not far off stock for stock on a 335i but the reality is, the car just doesn't have the balance of the bmw. My wife has a 328xi and although its slower than my bros g37 I prefer driving it over the g37 just because of the feel of confidence and stability. -Vin |

My best friend has a G37s and when I had my 335 sedan I smoked him about 5 or 6 times in a row. From a stop, from a roll, from speed (all on a closed course obviously) I started walking within 2-3 seconds. I would say any m3 would put bus lengths on a g37.

Currently drive a G37S, but have my M3 on order. There is a definite difference.... Don't get me wrong, the G37 is fast, but the coupe or sedan M3 would walk away from it. The convertible I think would be similar speedwise....
The G37 with some mods, and you might get close to an E90 or E92, but just two completely different cars.... V8 @ 8,400 RPM is pure heaven! |

What RPM were you (OP), when you played around with him? Possibly you were in a higher gear than you should have been? There's no comparison between the two cars if all were stock.
