Got done over by a copper in an unmarked Mitsubishi Evo X – I saw him in the mirrors goading me into a run but when I declined and pulled into the slow lane he stopped me and issue a ticket – I’d be sure he thought it was a trophy kill to tell the boys back at the office about. Complete put up job.

I'm on my 8th BMW in 12 years (6th M car) and I have never been bothered by the police, including speeding, which I do regularly. I have never run a front plate on any of my cars, and have never been ticketed. I'm beginning to think the police are antidiscriminating against me because I'm over 50. I'm just curious whether people think age is playing into this equation. I have been tracking my cars for 12 years also, so I am not the old f**t thinking his M3 is a Buick.
I'm not sure if age has much of an effect on whether you get pulled over or not, because as you flash by a cop who is stopped or travelling the opposite direction they can only get a glance at you and may not be able to tell your age. However I think being older does have it's advantages regarding whether you get a ticket or not. As I mentioned previously, being courteous and respectful goes a long way too.

I'm 44.

What really bothers me about the speeding ticket scenario - is that EVERYBODY speeds, we all know it and do it. It's really a revenue redistribution for the local muni...which if you get caught - is what it is....the part I find really bogus is that your insurance company gets to raise your rates for something everybody does anyway! I'd suggest that if a person is ticketed for speeding of only 15mph or less over the limit - it doesn't even go to your record. Only if you are sited for being reckless (say speeding dangerously in an congested area, blowing through a school zone, or if you had 4 speeding tickets in a year)...then your insurance company might have just cause to think you are driving dangerously and raise your rates accordingly. But what do I know, I'm in favor of term limits for ALL politicians and a flat tax too

^ AFAIK, Insurance companies do not see tickets that are 10mph over or less...

ALWAYS go to court! In my 13 years of driving, I've only had one ticket over 10mph over go on my record. That was when I was 16 and didn't know any better. Since, I've fought every ticket and ALWAYS get probation or get it dropped. Even a 117 in a 65.

Well, dating the assistant district attorney's daughter might have had a little bit to do with that one ticket too =P

Last night we are going to a Christmas party and I get pulled over in NY state for "moving from right lane into the left and back". When I explained to the officer that there were 3 deer standing along the right side of the road, he admitted that he saw them, but wrote a summons anyway.

Is it me, or does this car attract cops?
He wrote you a ticket for missing some dear on the road , see him in court you'll walk and he will foot the bill.

true except in the city.
i got pulled over for A LOT of stuff, partly why i do not go there often at all.

GOD, I HATE COPS!!!!! F*** THEM, I have no respect for them, at all.
You should take the comment back bud, my uncle is a police officer. I don't believe he sits on his arse and eats donuts. There certain police officers that are like that but they still fulfill there duties . Really to say that you must have no respect for yourself.

...yep, it's a fact -- M3=Magnet.

I've been stopped four times in less than a year:
  • a 'warning' for 11 mph over on an empty highway.
  • twice for no front plate
  • not moving over for a stopped trooper ticketing someone else.

That's why I decided to go with the 9500ix...a little help please!

I feel your pain man! Cops are always checking out my car. I was driving down the street and there was a bike cop right next to me, and he was staring at me the car the entire time! I don't know if he was admiring the car, or just trying to find something wrong with it!

The fact that you can't see past the bad few (or stop calling them names) and recognize that the majority of cops are good people providing a service that you don't have the balls to do just shows the problem is you and not the cops.

Cops (most of them) are good men.

But some ocifers just get on peoples nerves and give the other ones bad names.
