Selling drugs to BMW addicts

Whilst everyone is bashing the price, did you ever stop for a second to think about that the car is not located in the US? Yet not even a US SPec model. Hence it is not priced as dirt cheap as all the BMWs are in the states (from a EU perspective). $100k is where it starts for a moderately equipped M3 in Germany....
See the blue 2010 Brabham V8 M3 that is floating around on the itnernet for $310k: http://www.insideline.com/bmw/m3/201...rst-drive.html Don't get me wrong, the car is butt ugly, just wanted to get that off my chest.

It's truly bespoke so I don't think the price is "unreasonable"…but for $200,000 there are many other cars I'd prefer, that's bonafied supercar territory at that price point. TBH I don't think I'd spend that much money on anything that started life as a BMW E9x, 430 Scud or a GT2 would be vastly better. Or go with a 996 platform and get something done through Ruf or Protomotive. And I agree with what many of you have said, it's not particularly tasteful or attractive, aesthetically it's just "how much can we do to this car".

$200,000 for that interior? No mate. I'd rather spend that much of money on the new M5 or M6 and keep the extra cash in the bank.

I could def put an appraised value on the car. I'm really amazed at all the hate on this board. Yes maybe the car is a little over the top and alot of $$ but someone took the time to do it, and props to them whereas half the people on this board couldnt change their own muffler out. I think this can be done wayyyyy cheaper (e9x 6 speed bolts right up to s85 motor) while keeping the stock body too. The cost with this car is the coachwork mostly. |

The large majority of people on here do not seem to understand how value is created, especially in the car market. The invidivual components of the car or the modifcations from stock or the performance etc is all only part of the value but where the bulk of the inflated price comes from is the scarcity-a one-of-a-kind car gives it the value. So comparing it to a car that costs the same but is better in everyway is not a proper comparison. People buying this are buying it for the uniqueness more than anything and for them buying another lambo, gt3 or whatever will not provide them with that.
Just like people with the m3 GTS feeling overpriced. The actually components were not that much better to justify price over regular m3 in terms of performance. but the fact it is truly limited and scarce is what adds the value |

I'm surprised that I like the interior (save the steering wheel) I like the Lamborghini-esque diagonal stitching The exhaust sound is fantastic ... I think i would have loved the body to not have been modified

Then again, there are plenty odd folks out there who would not mind blowing money (... like you said - inflated price? ) on one-off pieces, its just that this one looks like crap, hope it drives better. |

Amen. Although even overlooked by yourself is the fact that GTS brakes will lighten your wallet a better part of 40k.
