An unique look for sure, and should turn quite a few heads. However, I am not a Matt person for sure. The paint looks unfinished, and borderline to the junkyard cars with clearcoat stripped and sanded.

If the car was brand new, why would someone need to wax it right away? Am I missing something? :-)

I was under the impression that the matte finishes had no clear coats on them and as such would not need polishing (polish just smooths the edges of the swirls in the clear coat and wax fills in the voids so you don't seem them and gives the paint finish a pop). I don't mean to flame this thread, but if the product were advertised as a paint sealant that might make more sense in my mind.
They indeed have clearcoats. In many cases the exact same clearcoat you have but with an additive that dulls as it dries.

The wax is a protectant which i dont think is really necessary but it cant hurt. The point is to be dull and flat and with this opaque wax it stays dull and flat, whats the confusion? Its not really a fad since it has been around since the '50s. And how can it look like vinyl when the vinyl was copying the matte paint idea in the first place. Sorry not trying to be rude just helpful and/or informative

Looks AWESOME! There is a slight shine imparted to the finish but simply breathtaking nonetheless. LOVE it!

................and then I drove to the store for some Milk, a stick of Butter, and a loaf of bread, and......OMG my car is dirty again!!! Oh well I guess I will do it all over again. Soon, hopefully you will realize what a waste of time detailing a car to this degree is and do something more worthwhile with your time. Good luck.
