Resonator Delete Anyone?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone had their resonator deleted and what the results were, any issues, pros/cons?
how is the sound, i plan on staying stock except removing the resonator as i want to be a bit louder than stock but no where near a race exhaust///

thanks again

I had the Fabspeed 2nd cat & resonator delete, and it wasn't loud at all. Actually IMO that set-up sounds a bit like a stock M5/M6. Also...there was zero drone when I had the set-up. Good luck .

I deleted ONLY my resonators.

I find it a tad more "raspy", but I liked it. You only notice it when you are really on the gas. However, I thought it would be a bit more loud, so I am installing an AA x-pipe tomorrow.

I got a local muffler shop to do the resonator delete for about $80 or so. Might as well try it. It will add a little more sound to the exhaust, but it aint a lot.

If you're looking for a 40% bump in volume the resonator delete won't do it. You need to delete at least the secondary cats and resonators to get a deeper idle, but it still doesn't sound that aggressive. Have you looked at the Dinan axle-back? I think it would give you the increase in volume you're looking for w/o touching the rest of the system.

niqui, you should try the resonator delete before you spend a few grand on a whole system... cos i have a sneaky feeling that this may satisfy you. most people on this board dont realise that you want the car to be just SLIGHTLY louder and not a muscle car (like mine ...ahaha)... if the resonator delete doesnt work that well, u can go back and do a secondary cat delete... sound will be louder again... if thats still too soft, then you should go ahead and do a full system (you dont have to put back the secondary cats or resonator back on just get a new set of mufflers.).

u are right chris, i think i only want 20% louder than stock and a nice little rumble, but i think i am buying a full system, we are working out the formalities now, its a bastuck, not the same as yours though.
supposedly it isnt very loud but has nice tips and a nice little rumble.

i dont really wana start hacking up my stock system.

i will let u know if the deal goes thru.
