I was going to leave my ZCP suspension stock, but now thinking abt going w/ coilovers.

I've read that the Ohlins setup may be under-sprung for track use, off-the-shelf?

I'm an instructor & pretty aggressive, but... I will not be running anything but streeties (NOT gonna turn this thing into a competition car lol). That being said, maybe they were running R-comps & felt that way.

Any feedback?

and less roll. There is quite a lot of range between hard and soft settings.
The dampers respond quicker and soak up bumps better than stock.
I've been enjoying it for street in medium range at 9 clicks
back from full tight. Track wknd coming up so looking forward to see how they perform.

I've had one issue with install that I'm still trying to sort out.
After hitting a pothole a clunking sound started on drivers front when
weight shifts. Vorshlag folks said its a typical problem that the top
nut isn't tight enough and needs impact gun using pulsing method
to get it down, or possibly it's the end links. (edit2: the clunk is back)

I drive daily on the street a lot and tracking once a month,
seems like the perfect crossover compromise for me.

Cheers,

That would be perfect if the R/T setup is somewhat similar for the M3.

Thanks!

Running the Ohlins R&T and Ground Control plates...perfect setup. Very pleased with my decision.

I will more than likely go straight for the Swift spring upgrade, but Im doing more research on camber plates. I hear good things about Vorschlag but Im thinking of going the Ground Control route. I have used their camber plates previously. They were quality and customer service was great.

they mate up perfectly, as mine were installed with no issues or modifications ( Ohlins R&T and GC camber plates )

Cheers

Yes, the GC race plates have the ability to adjust camber. They use a monoball in their race plates compared to a sealed radial thrust bearing in their street plates which is similar to what BMW uses on the front top strut mount.

Have you verified with GC that their race plates will fit/work properly on the Ohlins front strut?

I personally see the Ohlins Road & Track as the best coilover suspension available for the price. Some of the features are height adjustable, preload adjustable, smooth ride, with excellent handling. Another benefit is that they are lightweight. You will enjoy them very well.

I'm running E92 M3 Ohlins R&T with Ground control Camber plates, 305s in the back and 275s up front G-force Rivals. ApexArc8. Stock setting on the suspension as per Ohlins.

Was at the track the other day and my buddy who has a fully built race E46 M3 cage, seats, harness, r-comps, squared set-up etc etc etc...you get the idea. In his car he puts a best time of 1.20...trying to squeeze a 1.19 that day. Took my car out in its current configuration...a couple laps to familiarize himself and one lap at 1.22...was blown away at the suspension...note I know there is hp difference, but in this case it wasn't the factor, as this track is very technical. The ohlins is no brainer for people who want to drive their car to the track or a night out on the town !!

cheers

How do these compare to KW Clubsports? I know people subjectively say they feel a bit softer, but what about objective measurements? Is there any data on performance metrics with the Ohlin vs the Clubsports?

Good day

Hope this helps...I live in downtown Toronto, a big metropolitan city...lots of pots holes and street car tracks...I'm currently running Ohlins R&T and I have no complaints...way more pleasant on the road than stock and certainly very competitive on the track.

Cheers mate

I am going to throw on a set of Ohlins very shortly. I'll be doing them with Vorschlag camber plates along with MRF subframe and Turner diff bushings. I'm doing the Rogue lower control arm bushings, too. I'll try to post up a review when it's done.
