You hate Dinan stuff so much and really annoyed by people here, right?
I can give you the solution. Just unsubscribe this thread and leave them alone.
Some like it, some love it, some don't like it, some hate it. What can we say?
There is no right or wrong answer here.
It's personal preference and their usage of the mods (nice DD? track setup?).

I like Dinan for my DD, not too loud, sounds good, etc. and I'm still interested in your Dyno on full track setup (but please in new thread, not here) as well for full dyno gains.

Let's leave this thread alone for it's purpose- for informative, discussion about Dinan exhaust between owners and future owners.

Metak... please use the entire post to quote... and not just bits & pieces...

My first line says "I actually like the black simple tips as well."

Last time I checked... that was a compliment.

Yes... I said I felt the fake tip is ridiculous and not worth money... sorry that I didn't choose better words to make everyone happy.

Let me try again...

I think the Dinan exhaust is nice looking, and actually I like the tip style (as many have gone back and forth on whether they like them or not).

For me... I wish Dinan would have offered both tips to be functional...and this could have been a home run system.

I can assure you... if this was about other brands... doing something like that... people would voice opinions of question as well.

I don't care if you trust my comments or not? They didn't say 'My Comments are to be Law... 'My Comments are the end all'... they are 'MY COMMENTS'... most of us have our own??? Can you please post your Race Gas dyno numbers before & after on the same day? And again... I didn't say it wasn't possible... I even said... that AFTER i was done doing the rest of my mods (which I've dyno'd each one... individually before & after) that I would go back to the dyno... AFTER driving a 100+ miles w/ the Race gas... to confirm or deny the adjustment theory's.

First of all... it's very clear here... that you have a problem with any REAL RACER that doesn't AGREE with your 'TRACK DAY' racing experience. Winning an 'SCCA' Race... and winning NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS are quite different... but probably the same to a track day guy like yourself.

I didn't try to come off arrogant or cocky... until you got your panties all in a wad over someone saying Dinan's $2,000 exhaust seems ridiculous to come with a fake tip. I promise you... I won't (and haven't) gotten all crazy if someone doesn't like any Exhaust I run... isn't that why many people run different systems?

Dave
I don't get on these forums and brag about my racing success (although it is more successful then yours)... I have nothing to prove here.. all i want is to talk BMW and look at pics...

Unlike you Mr Schotz

I isolate and point out the negative insulting comments that you make because no matter how nice and complimentary you think you are it is trumped by your insulting negativity. It's like taking a dump on the best cheescake in the world, your not going to get me to eat it, but if wish to, by all means, bon appetit!

At least you know my last name. I don't know yours... and again... I didn't try to brag... and still don't feel that I have.

Care to share your experience? You can PM me if you like?

Last... I tried to 're-post' the comments in a more objective approach, in the post above.

Ok Kingle... whatever floats your boat. I just realized you have practically posted in every thread I have... and always have been so passionate and positive. I should have realized this is your game... and not responded... my bad.

Funny, to see you also took time out of your valuable day to go add your .02 on a thread where a guy was selling a product... and you said who in their right mind would purchase that... etc... etc...

You're full of positive contributions... and I'm sorry that me mentioning racing, along with my posts has offended you.

He was trying to sell a STOCK air filter for 50 dollars!!! hahaha.. BMW gives them to you for free when serviced...

and ALL of the cars on this forum are still in the service window of 50k miles...

so anyone who buys it for 50 dollars... WOULD.. defiantly.. be out of their mind...

yes.. you are sorry.

What is going on in this thread.

Kingleh, you did the single exhaust tip, right? It looked sick.

yea man.. the single.. i was hoping for a lil dif noise from just 1 tip.. but it didnt really do what i want...

it was weird looking just one side.. I ended up leaving it on about 4 months longer then i had planned.. haha.. it really sounded pretty mean...

My setup now is perfect tho.. No drone and higher pitch smooth noise.. Dinan muffler with 2nd cat delete...

Different accents, same sh!t.

I've never had an issue with a single car enthusiast that I've met in person. God bless the internet.

Corsa uses the exact same approach, but with subtle differences. One difference is they split (in a 'Y') the single outlet into 2 OUTSIDE the muffler. Now that I think of it, I prefer a fake tip than a fake dual tip .

My last issue is the ugly looking mufflers from the rear. If they cheaped out on tips, I can overlook that, but damn, charging $2K and not even painting the visible part of the mufflers black is unacceptable IMO. Will ask them if they're willing to do it; just left a message.

For those of you with wives, g/fs, S/O's, etc., I thought I'd post up my wife's impressions on the Dinan exhaust. The first couple of times she rode with me in the car with the windows up, she didn't notice any difference. In fact, she didn't even notice I had a new exhaust. However, the first time she heard me leave for work in the morning, she figured it out and asked me what I'd done to make it sound so mean. Once I rolled the windows

It's amazing how quiet this exhaust is inside the car (very, very close to stock) for how loud this puppy is outside the car. My wife can hear my car approaching from down the street, but it's not loud enough to piss off the sensitive neighbors (they're the kind of people who'd let me know if they had a problem with it).

I've gotta say that I couldn't be more happy with the sound of this system.

Great description! My wife just mentioned the very same sentiments last night. She said with the windows up it "barely sounds any different."
