My E90 M3's Tint Job
I'm not sure if it count as a Mod, but here it is. I just got 28% tint down fully around my M3. I'm quite surprised that the car didn't have any tint to begin with. The car is off insurance during the winter time, but I took the chance today to drive 25Kms to go get the tint done. But I guess now my once cleaned m3 is gonna stay in the garage dirty with her new tint on
I really miss the car, it's already been 3 months since I've driven her and another 2-3 months to go. But anywho! I thought I'd share some quality pictures. I've had some bad experiences in the past with the picture quality so I hope these turned out just right *fingers crossed* Before, All nice and clean After, All nice and dirty -.-

As we can see.. My bad expierences with my uploading of pictures has failed yet again.... They are too small even though I told them to be resized to 1280 x 800

Pics look good, car looks good. However why would you ever drive your car even 1 mile without insurance? That is plain stupid. Do you really need to save that money?? Gosh, especially in the winter I would never take my car off insurance!

Looks good. I prefer more of a subtle tint that still reflect most UV's and helps eliminate glare to the ultra-dark, limo look, but that's just me! Good thing too because in North Carolina we are limited by law to 32% I believe.

I don't know much about anything but this is what I am going to assume. MOST banks won't let you have a lien on a title without insurance so in defense of the OP I am going to assume he is a fortunate enough individual to have paid for his car in full. If that is the case maybe he does want save as much money as he can if he has no intention of driving it in the winter. You don't become wealthy by wasting your money away. As for driving it in the winter with no insurance that for me would be a no no. I know of a particular gentleman that does this exact same thing with a 911 turbo he owns outright but doesn't drive during the cold months.

Looks good. Did you have them install mole-skin to avoid scratching the tint? If not do a search about scratched window tint on E90's. Based on my research it is pretty much guaranteed to be scratched by the inner seals in the doors unless you use add the mole-skin or remove the seals.

As for the moleskin. I did do my research before I got the tint done. And I must have told them at least 5 times and warned them about the moleskin issue on the m3. But when he did the tint, he told me that I don't need the moleskin. He said that the seal is felt is very soft, and even put the window down and I didn't see any scratches. He also said that if there is a problem, I can bring it back to him. As for the percentage of tint, I didn't want any police trouble, so I went with the subtle 28%. Going darker would be much preferable, but if there is a chance of me being ticketed and me removing the tint, I'd be wasting my money and time haha. But I think it's dark enough. The car looks alot more aggressive I wish I had it cleaned, but I just wanted to go there and come back.
