No way, my parents drive used cars. It's smarter in terms of resale value

the majority of 335 drivers i see give me the black eye, like last night i was at a light and a guy in a white 335 with the 19inch black bmw sport wheels, m kit and exhaust etc.. pulls up and his GF points at my car with a smile on her face lol

Light turns green and he jumps it, i never launch my car in first from a stop so i get rolling and proceed to catch up to him in a civilized manner to salute my bmw comrade and as soon as im about to get to his bumper he takes off... and i follow and the rest you guys can imagine.

When all is said and done i expect him to pull up to the next light to chat a bit but he does a U turn and turns off in the opposite direction lol

'Smoke', that was caused by overheating, due to insufficient intercooling.

Its weird; I end up going out for joy rides and I'll get thumbs up, waves and t!tties flashed (ok maybe made that last part up, we can dream can't we). I still give the Peace sign to VW's as I was an ex-GTI owner and have got to give them props!

The best is when real American muscle car junkies give the thumbs up. I'll give them the same respect if they haven't gone down to Auto Bahn and put on every type of aftermarket piece on to their Charger or Mustang.

i dont know why 335 drivers think their car is faster...i own both 2011 335 and M3...i rotate between the 2 cars and everytime i get in the 335, it feels significantly slower than the M3...when i floor both cars, the 335 doesnt even come close to the power the M3 can deliver...335 is a nice car and comfortable to drive around but thats about it...after driving the M, the 335 feels sloppy and unstable around corners during high speed.....its no M car....M3 handles 10 times better, its 10 times faster, and just more precise.

In my experience, most of the 335 owners that I have come across have been fairly polite and respectful.

It's usually the other M3 owners that act like they have a twig stuck up their...you know. They won't even acknowledge the existence of another BMW on the road aside from their own.

i own both too and 335i with a tune can easily smoke an M3 . But that's what some of the 335i owners always try to prove to m3 owners that they make a good choice instead of buying an M3 which is more expensive and slower

But you have an E93 M3 v. tuned E92 335. Of course your 335 is going to feel faster. As Rich indicated, stock E92 M3 v. stock E92 335, there is no comparison.

i see...but then at that point, we aren't comparing apples to apples anymore...they could also make an even better choice and buy a honda civic for 10k, drop 10k in mods and smoke the M3..its only fair stock for stock but i guess those guys with things to prove will never see it that way anyhow

I used to own a 335i with the M Sport Package. to be honest when I got the car new, i justified it because it was 15K less than a M3. I always wanted an M3 but felt it was too expensive. The 335i was an admirable substitute but it was by no means an M. Now that I have an M I can honestly say there is a big difference. It usually comes down to money and when you settle for something that is not what you really wanted or wanted to spend the money on you can rationalize it away. People will always look at you weird, let them and drive on smiling.

Beofre my e93 m3, i owned a e92 m3 , the 335i with tune is still way faster. Stock vs stock, M3 wins but not with a tune

People who think that everyone is driving the most expensive car they can afford tend to be driving the most expensive car they can afford.

M3 drivers are humorous, always on the defense about their car and swear everyone is hating on them and jealous of them.

I am like a few on this forum who used to drive a 335i. The 335i is an excellent car, but I'm absolutely enthralled with the M3 because it feels so great to drive.

Back in December, when I turned the 335i in after the lease ended, I was considering the 335is because I was so happy with the 335i but didn't want to get the same car again. The sales guy took me on a test drive, then asked if I wanted to try the M3. I said, "Oh, what the heck, let's do it." The rest is (recent) history!

All I gotta say is that the responsiveness of the M3 was what sold me. I am by no means qualified to adequately compare the 335i and the M3 based on the technical stuff (and never tried a tuned 335i), but I can feel by driving that the M3 is just in a different league, period. In fact, the M feels like it pulls harder despite what the numbers say. It pulls longer, of course, which is awesome. The 335 had bursts of power because there was always the initial hestitation when I hit the pedal, which made it seem like it had a bunch of torque when it got going. That feeling was a little more pronounced in the 335is, both the hesitation and subsequent pull. The M handles like a dream and does whatever I want it to do. No hesitation that I can notice. The engine sounds amazing. It's beautiful to look at and makes the 335 look plain. It just feels so fast. I want to track it so bad! Long story short, my opinion is that I'd rather have an M3 than a fast 335 because - like others have said - the latter is just that, a fast 335. If I was still driving a 335, I'd be jealous of M3 drivers on the road.

I've only had a 335is and a Scion try to race me while in the M3. No Porches, AMGs, etc. When I had the 335, everything from a Cayman to a WRX STI (which spanked me - the only one I actually raced) to a huge truck. I've gotten cut off badly in both cars.

A lot more compliments now from random people than the stink eye. I'm lucky, I guess. It's definitely a great feeling getting a thumbs up or a "Hey, nice car!" A couple of months ago I noticed a dude in a BMW bike next to me at a red light twisting his body to stare at me. He waited until I looked over, then gave me the thumbs up. I waved back with a smile, and then he turned back around. Man, it's those little things that make me feel great about getting the M3. The 335 never got those types of reactions.

Now I understand why certain people have something to prove to the M3, and almost have a beef, with M3 drivers on the road. It's like people get so upset when they think their car isn't the fastest on the road, like the M3 is a threat or something. But there are also a lot of others who appreciate the car for what it is, not what it isn't, and that's cool. The 335 is a sweet car. The M3 is an M3.

Cheers.
