Image how many of us would jump ship if Mercedes would just offer a proper manual 6 speed in one of those beasts!

Image the upcoming C63 Black Series in stick shift.

I wish that one of the 1563732 special edition M3s would be something that will compete with the C63 Black Series. That thing will be unreal.

I don't understand how someone can like the look of a C Class Mercedes. I am a M3 guy but to me RS5 at least has the looks going for it. Mercedes reminds me of typical American cars with a big engine.

While it isn't a completely new engine, it does involve more than just a tune. In addition, there are forged pistons, a lighter crankshaft and lighter con rods.

I would not mind having both cars (Merc/Audi) to add in my garage.

In what way are they copies? The RS5 is more like the RS4 than anything else, which the E92 M3 seems to derive some inspiration from (like the high-revving N/A V8 with ~420bhp). It's a GT car; too heavy to really take these cars on from a performance or excitement standpoint. The C63 is a unique car in all its own. It has a massive, refined nuclear bomb under its hood, and the chassis is well sorted out (with better road feel than an M3, to boot). It's a completely viable alternative to the M3; no copycat here.

I will say that the M3's character still comes off as more unique. Everything seems that much more homogenous. I'll take the C63 regardless though.

You ever drive a C63? I have more fun in that than I do in an M3. What's funny is that Autocar, one of the most respected European auto publications, favors the C63 coupe over the M3.

Exactly. Bimmerpost never posts a single comparison where the BMW isn't on top. The result: tons of increasingly biased forum users that use this site as their main source of information.

I love the look. It's brutal but refined, just how I'd like my German sports coupe to be.

Amazing to see the M3 still handle all of the competition, despite being 4+ years old (which isn't that much of a surprise to begin with). I say it a lot, but I like that MB is making such a beast because it keeps M division progressively developing the M3 to stay at the top. IMO the c63 is a great looking coupe with all of the aggressive lines. Audi just seems to dabble and charge ridiculous prices for their subpar performance.

the M3 is still so beautiful to me...

Cant fuck with a guy with 11k posts.... always a bad idea ahahahah

That interior of the C63 is disgusting, you cant convince me on that. I could never live with that interior, and my argument is the same for the audi and their graveyard styling. But that new C63 is a powerhouse under the hood no doubt. You can bet ill be more than happy to race one any time they shall pull up next to me, and bank on my DCT happily He may win the race, but Ill always feel like the winner

Looks wise the Audi has both the BMW and MB beat except for the fact that M3 carbon fiber roof on white looks pretty cool.

But engine wise and driving dynamics wise give me M3 any day over the brute power of MB & Audi.

I forgot to mention a thing or two. The C63's seats are miles ahead of the M3's (which seem to be catered to fat people). A huge plus for the AMG in my book is the tuning potential. If you ever wander over to their forums, you'll see those cars making some pretty serious N/A power with bolt ons. Crazy stuff compared to the S65.

Don't hold your breath. A fundamental of being an AMG is a automatic transmission, hate it or love it.

No such thing as a C63 Black series yet! Remember, this comparison is against a normal C63 or one with a performance package.

Exactly, many parts coming from the SLS AMG engine. Lots of tuning potential. The 2010+ cars all seem to be making a bit more power than the earlier models too.

Yes the C63 seats are straight out of a CLK63 Black Series. They're fantastic, although like you mention, if you're on the hefty side, you just won't fit.

A tuning company just released a supercharger for the 63 engine... The HP wars live on and quite frankly MB is destroying the competition.

With all that said, and with knowing all of this info, I STILL bought a M3. (not that it matters, but feel free to lookup my postcount on MBW)

If C63's had better interiors, choosing between that and an M3 would be almost impossible

+1, performance pack coupe for me

I'll be keeping my E46 as a track car, though, where I can really use the clutch pedal (complete lack of driving roads anywhere near me).
