With a price tag of 150k should be a nice upgrade....but there are better options for that kind of money

I love that new Jag! It's a fast GT, looks hot and sounds wonderful! I can understand the interest. Although at that price point, I'd be looking at something else.

Looks good, sounds good, not a great performer, but no slouch nonetheless! Not really a track car, but an awesome GT though. If you like it, go for it

I would love to hear from someone that has a Jag XK__ (any really) to give their opinion as to why they chose the Jag over its competitors. When I see them on the road the look great, the performance reviews are positive as to what they can do, but the price points always seem to me to be too high. Like mentioned above, when you look at its competitors for the price, there are much better options IMO.

So I test drove the Jaguar XKR-S yesterday and it was a great experience. Tons of torque and power, very luxuirous interior when compared to even a maserati, and the price is great. The only problem I am having with it is the fact that it is bright blue
Don't get me wrong, I think the color is striking and looks great on the car, its just really in your face. I want to make a statement, but not sure if I want to make that big of a statement! |

Last fall I drove an XKR-S at Lime Rock back to back with an XKR-S. The BMW is a better track car but neither is what I would be intersested for serious track use. The XKR-S is designed to be a high performance GT and that is exactly what it is. It does not really compete directly against the M3. It's most direct competitors would be cars like the M6 and the Maserati GT and I doubt that the people buying the XKR-S are concerned about the fact that an M3 is faster around a track. That being said it would probably not be my first choice in that price range. CA Last edited by captainaudio; 06-22-2012 at 08:18 PM.. |

When I think of cars competing on a performance level of even/better to the M3, I think Porsche. |

I inquired locally about the Jag about a year and a half ago. Considering that up here it's roughly in the price range of an M6...I sure don't see it as being overpriced. I know what I'd pick...and it wouldn't be the roundel. |

Yes, I do agree. I drove a 911S and was not that impressed considering they are around $120K and don't really "blow" away the M3. Add $40K for a turbo and thats a different story, but then you are WAY up there in price and might as well look at used Ferrari's or Lambo's.

I had a ride in one a couple months ago and was impressed. Great performance and the sound ... unreal! Agree with others that for this price I would look elsewhere but seems to have much more personality than an equivalent Aston, SL, M6 (though I haven't driven the new one), or Maser.

I love the color, looks a little like the laguna seca. I wouldn't drive it daily but I would definitely buy it, color is beautiful and sporty.
