Thumbs up new Camaro SS spotted!

This thing is in SS trim complete with badging and bowtie and all and check out the production headlights. It's BEAUTIFUL IMHO. It's got a black interior. It was on the set of a movie set for some reason. Only thing I dont like is the moonroof which actually gets rid of that reverse mohawk look on the cars without a moonroof.

This thing is so much nicer than the Challenger or Mustang!

Great pics!!!!

I love how it looks with that back diffuser installed now. Did you get to hear it in action at all? Looks so much better with these production headlighst than that ghastly covered lights they had on the preproduction cars. Thanks for sharing.

I didnt think it looked like the GT-R, anyone else think so? I think this car is full of character just like the new Dodge Challenger. I'm leaning more to the Camaro though because it still has a retro look but its moving into the future. Looks amazing IMO.

The GT-R looks good from certain angles and terrible from others. I know it will look 100% better in real-life, but I think this Camaro looks great in both.

Well the concept did come out before the GT-R. Seeing how the production Camaro is 98% true to the concept, I would say the GT-R ripped off the Camaro's looks. Just pure coincidence that the rear looks similar.

Reminds me of the 68-69 Camaro that blew me away at the drag strip in the early 80's.

p.s., what are those two holes just below the Chevy emblem? Is that where you plug in phone line 1 and line 2 connectors?

I had a 2000 Camaro SS when I was 17. I loved that car because it was my first car with power. I got a lot of compliments on it.

However, I can not get into this new styling. My dad has 2 69 Camaros that he built for the track, and the car kind of looks similar. If I want the retro look, I will get a retro car.

Of the big three, the Camaro seems to be the biggest departure from the past among the retro muscle cars. It was designed to be contemporary with subtle hints of the muscle car of the late 60s. The new Mustang is more of a throwback to the 67-69 Mustangs, yet has combined in today's design elements. The Challenger is probably the closest emulation of the "mind's eye" of what the 70s Challenger looked like. If you were placed in a time machine from 1970 to present day, you would definitely recognize the new Mustang and Challenger. With the Camaro, you'd have to think twice until you saw the emblems.

It doesn't surprise me all these people who hate the ZR1, Camaro, etc are from California. Most insecure people in the country if not the world.

Uh, of us 4 Californians who have commented on the Camaro in this thread, I believe only 1 didn't like it.

I was making a generalization. It seems whenever the image snobs come out, they are from California. If not, usually the East Coast. Just a generalization not meant for every single Californian.

I'll have to say, I'm impressed with what GM seems to be designing lately, and I'm not a GM fan. The upcoming Chevy Volt, for instance, has some nice styling cues, and for an econocar, the exterior shape is very impressive. The interior seemed very cramp in the back though. The problem with a lot of these American cars is that they seem to be designed from the outside in, not the other way around.
