The doc prescribed some hood vents. Don’t disobey. Go with trackspec.

Why the one over the other?

because race louvers have more R&D and are more efficient. I don't mean this condescendingly but go to a GT4/3 race paddock and you'll see almost all of their hood vents have gurney lips at the leading edge of the vent to promote ventilation. Even on some super high end street cars you can see this, like the black series in the photo or the new GT3RS. The cup car in the photo has these lips as well.
Trackspec vents look better imo but don't have the lip and their actual vent design seems generic, compared to the louvers which have more angle as you move across the vent. |

My post was a little hyperbolic, I sold it to buy a full carbon hood as a clean slate. And so I could install a single very aggressive center vent that nearly matches the radiator width for more optimal cooling.
RL design, testing, and published finding seem superior to trackspec, although you could probably get mostly there with some simple gurney flaps. I’ve spoken with trackspec repeatedly about a “to be coming” gurney modification for years and still nothing.

Reveived the car from Autocouture and being doing test drives to get familiar with the new suspension after JRZ rebuilt.
Feels good. I was supposed to do a first trackday April 6th at PMP but hurt my back and had to give that one up. My first test on the track is then setup to be April 22nd at LRP. In addition to overall shaking down the car, I am also testing Rebrake Friction Layer (RFL) on my front left. The front right is the original carbon ceramic (Brembo CCM-R) So far it looks like the RFL is getting to ABS sooner than the original CCM-R. At about 700psi. |
