E92 LCI M3

Anyone know when the LCI E92 M3 will come out? I thought it was going to be the 2010's but I guess not.

Meaning it's essentially just a change of the rear tail lights?

It could be more than that. The LCI for the sedan last year brought about new tail lights, a slightly redesigned rear end and nose, new headlights (on non M E90s) and the moving of some switch gear inside. There might have been a few more changes but that is all I can remember.

The LCI for the sedan was great. If they can make the coupe look that much better I would be amazed.

That's probably safe to assume that it will be essentially the same upgrades as the Sedan plus maybe one or two more since it's a year after the E90 LCI.

I have my order in for a sedan so hadn't really looked at any coupes, and there were none on my dealers lot. So if I understand it, when they updated the rear lights on the sedan last year they didn't do the coupe also?

That is correct. Since the 3 series coupe was introduced a year later than the sedan it receives the LCI about a year later.

So best as anyone knows the E90 M3 won't get any further updates this year, cause they were done last year? I kept hearing about mid year LCI updates coming this spring and had just assumed it applied to both the E90 and E92.

well, E90 M3 might get updated too because it shares the front headlights with E92.

If the E46 M3 is any indication, there's a good chance the E9X M3s will not get the updated LCI E92 headlights. The LCI E92 headlight housing seems to have a different shape which would require a whole new bumper for the E9X M3.

I would wager that the E92 M3 will only get the LCI taillights. Of course, I could be wrong ;-)

who knows...maybe they'll LCI the M3 independently. i think that current operations at M GmbH are proof that precendence isn't always the rule anymore (turbocharging, X5/6M, etc.)
