New owner

Hi,

I just picked up my first M car this weekend. Its a loaded up AW 2011 M3 sedan with the comp package. I have to say this car is a beast in every way. I got rid of my 997 C4S for the M3

Please say more about the E92 versus the 997. Both are serious contenders for my next one.

congrats!
yea they are two great cars, but if we daily drive it serves two different ways
I seriously considered a mint 997.5 C2S before making the purchase on my M3 2 yrs ago.

why did you move from C4S to M3?

I actually picked up an e90 but my thoughts are below

I really enjoyed the porsche, it was a life long dream and honestly I will get another one without a doubt. The next one I get will be air cooled though.

They are both very serious and beautiful cars with similar purposes in life, however very different beasts.

Interior - I found that both cars use top notch materials, I liked the simple layout of the porsche interior however I like the seats in the M alot better.

Acceleration - Both cars are fast and the power comes on alot differently. The porsche seemed to pull hard from the get go, however the M gets to a certain RPM and pulls like a freight train. I think the M is actually a tad bit faster.

Handling - I havent been able to really push the M yet, but I think the porsche felt a little more planted in the corners. This isn't a good comparison though since the porsche was all wheel drive.

Always good to see another M3 make it into the state of NH. Did you go to Bavarian Auto's Show N Shine last Sunday?

congrats - I own the twin sister to your car. Try and reserve jusdgement of your new M for a few weeks as it takes some time to discover all of the features and capabilities of the car. Also takes a bit to personalize all of the settings (ie. My car is set to default to power setting, etc.).

The only must do enhancement I have found is the MPE. Completely intoxicating sounds (exotic) - especially with rev matching downshifts.

Mine is not a DD - I like to keep it super mint and drive it when the weather is clear. Makes each outing special.
