Laguna Seca & Camber
Curious what camber, etc you guys are running at Laguna? I'm heading out from Colorado end of May for the BMW CCA DE and want to make sure I'm set up right for it.
Also looking forward to running at sea level. You guys have no idea how lucky you are, not dealing with the thief known as altitude.

I've driven it and raced on it for 100+ days. If you are on stock-ish suspension and street tires, just have it aligned like you would for any other track day or aggressive street driving. Laguna doesn't require anything special and provides a medium to high level of grip relative to circuits like Sears Point (more than the desert tracks down south though). IIRC, it was last paved in 2006 so it is 4 years old. It isn't as grippy as it was back then, but it is still smooth.
Just work on the line and carrying as much speed as possible in the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 complex and getting the car slowed down and back on the gas early in 11. Here's one of my videos for you to study: [u2b]<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/anw2NAqVlew&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/anw2NAqVlew&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>[/u2b] Last edited by smmmurf; 03-29-2010 at 09:47 PM.. |

Thanks for the vid too. Forza & I have weekly "study sessions" but videos help me focus on different things than when "driving", so send me all you've got!

Yup, it's by far my favorite. I've had many fun races there. |
