Figured I would post up my watches in here as well. I alternate between my seiko diver on a NATO strap and Oris F1 Nico Rosberg daily.

I know there was a big reverso discussion going on recently. When I graduated from school, my dad gave me his as a gift. I love it, but only wear it on rare occasions. Pic of my yellow gold reverso grande taille.

Sorry about the poor quality pics. They were taken with my cell phone.

I went to Emory also, but moved back to NJ after graduating in the spring. What year are you?

What is the watch in the pic that's behind your Reverso? I remember seeing that watch while researching, and noting that I liked the case and where the strap mounts.

That watch is an Oris F1 Nico Rosberg Limited Edition. I really liked it because it has a real carbon fiber face versus the regular version which just has a printed face. They have since redesigned the williams F1 watches, but I personally like this design better than the new one. Its also titanium vs. stainless so its very light, but scratches more easily unfortunately.

As for the Zenith, as I own one, I may be basses, but the el Primero is one of the prettiest movements I've seen in person, and that was 7/10ths of the reason I bought mine. I guarantee that tourbillon won't disappoint.

Tag Formula at work, Tag Carrera when I'm out.

Tag watches are great and durable.

I can definitely attest to that! My link auto chronograph is four years old now, and that watch has taken abuse... still in amazing condition.
It looses time a bit, but most automatics do at some point. Just need to get it serviced.

So my wife "bought" me this watch for my birthday. Not really what I wanted. I rather would've spent the money on new rims, tires, intake, D7000 camera and a lens... But she "bought" it for me so it would've hurt her feelings if I made her return it.

Wearing that exact one right now. I love it. And I don't think you could have all that for the price of the watch. Unless she paid right at MSRP, then still...maybe.
And what does "bought" mean?

Maybe it was a ploy to get him to pay less attention to the car and more attention to her....

If you are worried about offending your wife because of an expensive gift that can surely be returned prior to wearing, then you either haven't been married very long, she is too sensitive, or you are too worried about hurting her feelings and need to man up.

"bought" meaning she bought it with my money. When I got the box, right away I knew it was going to be a watch. She told me, "honey, that's why I work, so I can buy you something nice for your birthday." She hasn't worked in 2 months because we just had a new baby and she probably won't go back to full time work for another year or two. All our money goes into two accounts. One savings and one checking (not including the 401k and 529 plans) Oh well, she means well... I do love the watch. Matches the interior of my car.

You're right, I probably couldn't have bought all that stuff with what she paid for the watch. I think retail for the watch if over $7000 and she got it on sale at Reed's Jeweler's for $4800 total.

BTW, how smoothly does the second hand go around on your watch?

We haven't been married too long. 9 years. And she is very sensitive. With her days away from delivering our 3rd child when she gave me the watch, I didn't want to spoil it for her. She was really happy when she gave me the watch. I think she was more excited giving it to me than I was receiving it.

I was thinking of returning it but she mentioned that it couldn't be returned because she had actually bought it a month before my birthday during a special sale at Reed's Jeweler's. She got a great deal on it. She got it for $4800 total.

Since I started following this thread and looking at watches, I'm starting to appreciate the workmanship and design behind these watches. I think the next watch will be a Panera Luminor 1950.

So have you been wearing the watch yet? Sounds like you're starting to like it a bit

It's a nice watch, and they are popular. Wear it for a year, then use it to trade or sell it on a watch forum. Might pay for most of the Panerai.
