Aim users- gear data?

Anybody using an Aim dash or Solo DL that is getting CAN data from the ECU getting the gear data from the CAN stream? All I am getting in an error. Not sure what the issue is.

I get gear for DCT. Do you have DCT or 6MT? 6MT requires some set up by you.

Where do you see the error? In RaceStudio? The variable is called "GEAR [#]", can confirm it works with DCT. (ECU Channel 21)

Yes in race studio. When clicking "online". No gear shows up on the dash either.

For gear data, you could do the calibration in the AIM. My E46M doesn't put gear data on the ECU.

I'm familiar with the gmear calibration (had an MXL for about 10 years)...however the PT6 ECU has a channel that sends the actual ECU not a calculated gear.

Never ran through the calibration routine, the gear info works fine for me (calculated gear is deselected, talking about actual gear info coming from the ECU), do your ECU mappings look like this?

When going "online" with a computer connected to my dash, the #21 channel lists error as the current value.

ok but in your protocol mapping screen, does the Gear Sensor show "ECU" selected or None (big button - right side)

If I go into dash setup and select calculated gear the ecu 21 on the channel setup page is disabled. If I select to get the gear from the ECU the ECU 21 is enabled.

My bad Bruce. I assumed the S65 6MT would have no way to know the gear as it does in the DCT.

It might not. There is a fairly large wiring harness on it that plugs into the engine harness. I guess I assumed it sends gear position data...maybe it doesn't? Waiting for Scott to say what the knowledge he knows about setup on the 6MT.

It is my understanding that you must go thru a calibration sequence for the AIM to convert rpm and mph into a gear for the 6MT cars.
