ebayer stole my car picture!

I'm looking around on ebay for BMW stuff and I see a picture that I took of my very own e90 330i. I guess someone came on here and copied the picture off. Would you be flattered or PO'd?

Thank gawd I fuzzed out my license plate. It's a really old picture of my car (about a year old) and it no longer looks like that.

i've had this happen more than several times with my last bmw. tell them to take it off. i find it annoying they don't ask for permission. one time, they linked the pic right off my web site. i then changed the pic to something else.

heh heh. if he refuses to take the picture down, you can probably report the item to ebay and get him into trouble. :P or threaten to do it and if he still doesn't budge, report it. that should teach him a lesson to ask before posting! Or if he's using ur site address, ... lol change the photo to something bad as someone else and someone else will report him. he can't do anything about it, because if he tries to complain, you have right for the picture since he didn't ask permission, and also if someone complains to him ... lol well he can try to back himself up but .. lol yeah. too bad for him!

Of course if he does take the picture down you don't have to do anything.. but dunno seems like people have done it before and that sounds stupid. if it's the same guy, then hehe.. he needs to learn a lesson!

The picture was taken off of the bimmerfest directory, I think. I'll send him an email and say he either needs to give me a commission for selling his product with my photo or to take his own darn picture.

Well I don't think there is any problem with what he's selling and whether he's a reliable dealer or not (ok ... maybe not completely reliable but I'm merely talking product wise, is the product in new or good condition [i guess it depends on what he says on the site what condition it is in.. i would hope it's new]... is the product delivered as advertised, not talking about business strategy), I think people are more concerned that he is not asking permission of the photos before using them to sell. I think if he makes a fuss about not compensating or not removing the pictures at the request of the picture owner I would be a little cautious, but .. if he's friendly about it, and starts ASKING like he should be then I think things will be fine.

its a scam, they find cars, list them, and if they sell, they send the buyer to an escrow site to make them feel safe, like www.autoescrow.us (it was shut down), which is a fake site that just steals your money...

FYI, eBay takes this sort of think VERY seriously. If the seller is in anyway representing that the photo is of the actual product being sold, that's misrepresentation.

My Rolex watch photos get stolen fairly often and I turn the sellers in...not only do I not like the idea of people profiting off my copyrighted photos, I DEFINITELY don't like them being used for scams.
