How did you get the production numbers for your exact configuration?

Here's how I got my numbers for 2011 6MT non-sunroof cars:

From the production stats for BMWNA (USA and Canada) for LCI cars(2009-2011):

- 952 without a sunroof out of 3587 total (26.5%)
- 1055 6MT / 2532 DCT (i.e. 29.4% were 6MT)
- if 6MT/DCT ratio holds on non-sunroof cars, then of the 952 cars w/o sunroof, 280 of them are 6MT

-- so out of all of the LCI production for NA, you have a set of 280 to choose from that are 6MT and no sunroof
-- 2011 production was 2170 out of 3587, or 60.5% of LCI total
-- hence 0.605 * 280 = 169 cars 2011 model year with no sunroof and 6MT


The pre-LCI, 2008s, had 501 with no sunroof out of 2280 total or 22% and of course the vast majority of those are 6MT.

E90 ZCP / 6MT / WITH Moonroof but NO iDrive (couldn't bring myself to go slicktop on an AW and I use the moonroof most days when temps aren't extreme)

There's a member who downloaded all the build sheets for the E9x M3 so this number isn't based on a formula or assumptions but actual build numbers. He was kind enough to share this with me.

He also informed me that once you get down to specific options, cars become increasingly more rare so not to get too excited. For example, if you were to take this down further to include exterior and interior color combos, there are only 3 Alpine White / Silver leathers in NA. And of those, only 1 with extended leather.

So as you can see, doesn't take much to suddenly have a "rare" car but that isn't the point of this thread. I just really wanted to see pics of other cars like mine!

my e90 jet black is one of 282 (and I have owned 2 of them)

pretty rare when you think of it. You really don't see many e90s in general

That's me, but JZB... There's a thread in maxbimmer where a the OP can tell you exactly how many cars where made with the exact same configuration. I think mine was 1 of 50 in NA.
