Plastics care

I wonder if anyone used this or similar products on the exterior plastic trim:

http://www.1z-usa.com/einszett_vinyl-rubber_care.html

Primary reason is washing the car when cold. Let's say it's -10C outside or so and you decide to wash it (I don't do it anyhow but want an opinion) and you can potentially have some plastic cracked due to temp differential.

Does this actually help or there really is no difference vs using it or not.

What about UV- anyone noticed their plastic trim finish siginificantly degrade over time?

Thanks!

Which plastic are you referring? Clear plastics? Generally I use Plexus on the lenses and other plastics, the rubber I use B303 after cleaning thoroughly with 1Z's deep plastic cleaner with microfiber.

Thanks- I was thinking more along the lines of rocker panels - front-rear bumpers and front quarter panels (all painted plastics).

What is B303?

it's a great product for exactly what it is supposed to work on. plastics, rubber, vinyl. it's on my to buy list because i'm always trying new exterior trim products. i've tried so many and found great ones along the way. ask me if you have any more questions.

For the painted plastics, I use the same product/technique as the metal painted surfaces. For the rockers and bumpers, I use extra coats of sealant and/or wax, usually Collinite super doublecoat in the rainy/winter months.

Thanks all!

I actually did apply opti-coat to mine this summer so it makes me wonder if anything else is needed on top of that? It's more like a permanent coat and doesn't degrade over time like a typical wax or sealant.

i usually use 303 aerospace on plastic like the dash, but don't think anything else is needed on the exterior if you have used opticoat.

The rubber exterior molding could use a dose on occasion.
