Hotel Recommendations Near Monterey Aquarium

Hello fellow forum members I was wondering if anyone could give me a suggestion on a great hotel that my gf and I could stay at near the Aquarium in Monterey, Ca. We are open to staying in a close by city as well.

My biggest issues are parking. I am one of those anal guys when it comes to my car and I really would like to take my M on the trip instead of taking something else from the dealership. I do not want to use Valet (worked in Valet in college so I would rather not based of what I saw ) So Im looking for a nice hotel that has a great self parking set up that I wouldn't have to worry about cramped spots etc..

Any suggestions or personal feedback would be nice. We would be looking at going one of the weekends in Feb this year.

cheers
jimmy

Clement Monterey (Intercontinental) I believe has hotel self-parking across the street (make sure it's run by the Hotel) and valet at the entrance and it's literally a stone's throw from the Aquarium. Relatively new hotel (modern style) and I really enjoyed staying there. You can buy 2 day passes at the Aquarium (great if u have kids) at the hotel and go back-and-forth as you need to.

+10000000000000 on the Sardine Factory.

Also, if you want one of the best burgers out there, hit up the Tap Room at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. Their Tap Room burger is incredible.

Ohhhh, if you have the time or are driving past, stop in at the bar at The Links at Spanish Bay golf course. Stunning view and great for a pit stop.

If you're looking for another hotel option in Monterey besides the Clement, check out the Monterey Plaza Hotel. I'll save you the time searching, the Clement and Plaza are the two best options in downtown Monterey. The only better options are to dish out the big bucks and stay at The Lodge or Spanish Bay.

Have fun and drive safe.

I stayed here the last time I was in Monterey

http://monterey.hyatt.com/hyatt/hote...index.jsp?null

There is a giant self parking lot so you can pretty much park your car away from everyone else if you want. Its a pretty nice property, unfortunately i only stayed there one night because i was just passing through Monterey.

It's a resort style property so it would be perfect if you wanted to stay there for a few days and relax.

^^this is awesome. That was what I have been looking for, a place with a huge self park so I dont have to valet nor worry about small spaces. I'm going to go check out their web page right now Thank you!

Not sure if you have been to Monterey before but there is literally nothing to do there lol. You just go the aquarium and walk down cannery row.

You can also do the 17 mile drive through Pebble Beach.

I assume you are talking the scenic route up PCH?

Make sure to stop by Big Sur and drop by Post Ranch Inn and have lunch at their restaurant (Sierra Mar)

http://www.postranchinn.com/

Really amazing views there.

This place looks epic. wish it was a little cheaper kind of overkill on the room rates

Yah the room rates are RIDICULOUS. I just stop by there to eat lunch which is still kind of pricey but you are basically paying for the view.

I'm planning to go up that way in March myself.

It's tough trying to explain to non car people that the part of the trip i'm most excited about is the drive

Anyways, have fun!

Post Ranch Inn is an incredible place. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch. The rooms there are incredible, the price tag is there for a reason. It's a really unique place. Check it out if you have the time.

Have a safe and fun trip up there, lots of great roads to enjoy!

Just got back from our trip up north to Monterey. Wow we took HWY 1 all the way up and the drive was stunning! I had never been up that way and we were really glad we did.

anyone who is looking for some of the most scenic roads in CA take the HWY 1 from San Luis Obispo to Monterey you wont be disappointed.

as far as the hotel went I ended up staying at the Hyatt at Monterey and the parking was great. We got there early in the day (noon) and had my pick of the whole lot and was able to park in a end spot with tons of room. We just left the car there all weekend and took a cab each time into town worked out perfect.

Once again thanks everyone for helping us pick a hotel etc.. we really appreciate it. We had a great time, Monterey rocks. If anyone is heading up that way in the future shoot me a pm and I can tell you some great places to eat if your interested.
