Tryin to be humble.. first, I say "baby bimmer" or "3 series" then I inevitably (somewhat waiting to..) hear "OH! Is it a 328 or 335??"

you know thats a good question.. I come across peole sometimes asking me what car do you drive.

I don't ever like saying things like bimmer or bmw. I like to say "three thirty five i" and then they either say oh, and don't know what i'm talking about and stay quiet, or they go further and ask, what's that?.. Then then i have to say, bmw coupe.

BUT i really don't like to sound conceaded. Lately i've been saying "three thirty five i" and if they ask what's that i say, "a small coupe".. And leave it at that. People who don't know me might get the wrong impression if i say BMW, or 07 Bimmer. Etc...

So that's what i say now, three thirty five i. then small coupe. Usually when they see me walk to me car after work it follows by "OOOOooohhhhh that's your caR??!?!!?!?" And i just smile and say, "yeah"

I highly recommend going through those, in the long run they seem to be real learning experiences.

I hear ya on the wall street thing...I took a $150k wack last year...That one was a real reality check..Since then I am alot less aggressive and I tend to think twice now before making foolish purchases..That one trade made me grow up real fast. The funny thing is I am a stockbroker so I can't even blame anyone else...So that was a real reality check.

Although you wouldn't think so by the forum, a 335 is a way above average car in the real world. I'm going for partner/VP so if people see me bragging about my car, talking about my new LED license plate upgrades, dub ones, quad exhaust HID 20k conversion, my gut is they're thinking, "he obviously doesn't need a better job," or they think my priorities are messed-up. If a person is a car person, then I'll talk BMW with them. Otherwise, it's on the down low. As I get older, no kidding, for whatever reason, I'm becoming more humble and modest. Two great experiences (not at the moment but in retrospect) are losing more than your annual salary on Wall St. (on paper), and making a mistake at work, owning up to it, and thinking that you may lose your job as a result, but finding that people are appreciative you owned-up. co-sign...I try to keep it as vauge as possible, there's alot of envious people out there and alot of times I'm cautious of being percieved as a braggart. Unless I'm in a comfortable setting around car enthusiasts or bimmer people talking shop I'd rather see people go when they see me drive away

Depends on who is doing the asking.

Most of the time I honestly dont like telling people(I guess Im embarrassed). Its tough when I just say I ride a motorcycle too and then say a Ducati. I feel like they think Im rubbing it in their face but Im not.

I think I need therapy.

brits typically say three-three-five whereas the americans say three-thirty-five

imo, the first is more classy, and the latter is more gangster.

i just say, a BMW, so as not to sound snobbish. BUT if they ask what model i say three thirty five. And i generally refer to it as the three thirty five, though on occasion i say three three five.

I say i drive a Z. Alot of people take it as a nissan Z.
If I hear people bragging and stuff, I dont say anything until they ask, then i just say BMW. Then when people see it, they are like i thought u drove a old bmw.

+1

I always try to avoid saying I've got a BMW just because some people will automatically think you're a prick because of it or resent you. Number first, then brand if they ask. Same deal here with the people seeing the car thing as well.

I say Three Thirty CI and not three three zero ci.

And just like many others on here, I don't like getting asked what I drive. I usually say a " just a small coupe." I don't like some of the reactions or questions I get when I say I drive a bmw.
