May I know why you avoid the 6MT pls?

I am in the opposite side (and have had both autos and stick), but never had a dct before. Hence curious.

And to be clear - I am certainly not trying to claim stick > DCT or vice versa.

Some people don't want a manual and some want the convenience of the DCT so they can shift like a manual but have it in auto around the city/traffic.

Yup - what KrazyKorean said. I'm in traffic quite a bit and have had Volkswagen DSGs and Ford PowerShift dual clutch before (still have the Jetta as a DD), so love the feel of them. They calibrate nicely when driven aggressively. Convenience factor plays a big part.

Thanks! That's a pretty simple but compelling reason especially for those who drive daily.

I drive only during the weekends, and so that issue does not arise.

I sorely missed the engagement of the clutch when I sold my 6mt zhp and had
a 2012 535 automatic. Though the latter had the dynamic handling package and the power was smooth and refined, especially in the highways, I felt disengaged when I tried to keep driving it in the 'manual' mode.

Hence my search for a 6mt M3 sedan.

I prefer the manual anyway. DCT is cool too but probably not my cup of tea.
