You forgot satin chrome
I've had OEM (obviously), matte black, and gloss black grills, and I prefer the gloss black. Matte black looked great too, but I wanted my grills to match my side gills, and I didn't like the side gills in matte black. I've never installed the satin chrome grills, but they are definitely intriguing.

i have had matte black and now color matched. i liked the matte but it stains really easy and hard to keep looking fresh.
since it is the only thing you are doing i say go with a glossy type black to match the black in the mirrors or go with color matched. if you go color matched i highly reccomend IND for this, mine came out perfect. Ilia was also a pleasure to deal with

I'm favoring stock at this time but can be convinced otherwise. I find the chrome gives it a bit of bling whereas black makes it look void or like a black hole from far away. Thanks everyone in advance for helping.... |

I have the OEM BMW Performance grilles (gloss black) and love them. Got 'em from Tischer. They match the window trim nicely, and since they are non-painted glossy black plastic, they won't chip like painted ones will.

I have the Satin chrome OEM grills and fender gills from the M3 'Edition' models. Quite hard to capture on camera but here's some pics - looks fantastic IRL and they're 100% OEM.

We just got some Satin Chrome in and they look amazing.
i didn't really care for them too much until I saw them in person. Satin Chrome is now my favorite.

Another vote for gloss black. It matches the shadow trim.

OEM Gloss Black all the way, it will go together with your door trim.

Gloss black looks clean if you are going to keep the car otherwise factory. I would do CF if you are going to have that theme on the car.
If you need a set of gloss black E92 grills, we have them in stock and I can throw them your way. |

I have the performance grills but when I went and saw the satin chrome I ended up getting them. Now I'm thinking I should add the side grills but not sure if it will look right on an Alpine White. Feed back is welcomed....
