Why no spoiler on vert?

Why is there no spoiler on the convertible? Does anyone have pictures of one added?

Not sure why BMW skips the spoiler for the vert, they did it with the E46 M3 as well. The E93 has a different trunk shape so the E92 version doesn't conform correctly.

Here is the E93 specific M3 style lip we offer installed:

And in Carbon:

You really have not seen an E93 M3 with a spoiler until you've seen watrob's car:

Thanks!! The JlevisW looks good, I dont want anything too much. And I don't want to spend too much on a lease either. Anyone see one of these in person? I don't like the way my 335i coupe looks from the back and love the way the M3 coupe looks. I know it wont be exactly the same but oh well. Anybody know why BMW dosent put it on? Does it not look right with the light underneath?

Thanks!!

So now I may have 2 things to do when my car comes. Vinyl wrap the window trim and get a spoiler. I definatly do not want to spend a lot on mods on a leased car, but those to things bug me. I think the coupe looks better, but I really wanted a convertible.

The vert is already too fat.

The best looking one has to be the Alpina version but it's too much $$$. Waiting for Chinese copies of it to show up on eBay.

The open top of the convertible defeats the purpose of having a spoiler to give downforce. It would not be able to compensate for the turbulence caused after the wind goes past the windshield. Unless the top was up all the time. I'm thinking if other cars / car companies did have a spoiler, they would only serve for a cosmetic purpose as well.

Correct however they are still effective with the top up, especially so with the M3's hard top. Given you'd need to be at a pretty good clip of speed for it to even become effective, I wouldn't think you'd have the top down at those speeds.

It's to make the but look better- I am under no delusions
This car is leased so the alpina ( over 1000 painted) is not an option.

Do the aftermarket spoilers for the vert require special installation or can I install it myself?

The spoiler on this car is primarily for aesthetics, there is no way it is helping THAT much if at all. It may direct airflow better, but the rear ends so abruptly that there must be significant turbulence around it that it can't help

Depends on the spoiler but most are installed with double sided tape so you can DIY.

Verts don't have spoilers because face it, Verts aren't real sports cars.

Don't blame the car, if you don't know how to handle it
