You think other people will come in here and talk or no? If not we can change the title to The KL2DC and Josh49 Lounge, stop in for a beer and to talk smack..

Yes a rename to the KL2DC & Josh49 Show sounds more appropriate. I suspect folks couldn't find an angle in which to enter the discussion...

ahem.. Is it safe to enter? So I just read this entire thread before the name change- I felt like I was eavesdropping on you guys. Back on the first page, you guys briefly mentioned Boston- so that's my 'in'. I have been thinking about applying to Dental School in Boston (Harvard, Tufts, Boston U). I've actually never even been there, but everything I've seen and heard about it is awesome. Josh, how do you like it there? Is it a good place to start a family (Cost of living $$$)?
So now I see you guys just left.. naturally. Oh well, have a good weekend!

Alpine -

I think Boston is a great place to get started up after school. There's some incredible schools here, which is why you're interested in the first place. With all of the colleges around here, there are tons of people around your age, so there's a lot of stuff going on that I think you'll find fun. I think one of the reason's I like Boston so far is because it's a big city, but it's not huge. Downtown, there is always stuff going on, good restaurants and bars to go to, festivals, concerts, etc that I think most people our age are interested in. The cost of living is kind of pricey, but move out of the city a drop and it's not too bad. From Boston, you can get many places in the car too, you're in proximity to a lot of good stuff. I guess I don't know what more you're looking for, maybe if you have some Boston specific questions, some people can help you out. I haven't been here that long, so I'm not an expert at all. I am having a really good time in Boston though, it's a great first city to start in IMO.

2 quick things to know early:
- The drivers are all a$$hats!!!
- A Red Sox jersey can be worn in place of a bulletproof vest and will provide you the same, if not better, protection.
- Keep on your out of state plates as long as possible. Once you get a Mass plate, you're just another "Ma$$hole", and people will be their usual selves around you..

Thanks for the info. Good to hear about the Red Sox jersey, I'll keep that in mind. I wasn't trying to get any super-specific information, just a little personal opinion on the city. Thanks for the info. I should be applying about this time next year or sooner. Crazy how time flies.
