Help me decide
Ok M3 Drivers/Enthusiast,
I would like some help on deciding what to do.. I have a alpine white e92 with carbon fiber splitters and a matte black front grill. I'm wanting to black out my side gills and hood vents but can't decide on matte, gloss or c/f!?!? Which would look best? I'm leaning towards the matte to keep it all in sync but the window trim is gloss. Any thoughts? |

M Edition Black chrome and side gills. Gloss black hood vents. I'd lose the matte stuff. Gloss will match your splitters and mirror caps much better. Matte is kinda blah looking to me, I'd give it the pop that the M Edition set provides.

I need to add that I'm ordering matte Black CSL wheels in the next few weeks. With that said I do like the black chrome for the grill/gills but then I would have to many different black finishes on the car.
Any body with pictures of white with black finishes, please feel free to upload! Thanks for the help so far!! |

"...but the window trim is gloss"
That says it all. Plus, matte looks ghetto. Plastidip ruined matte accents.

I'm at the same predicament. But for the look im going, I think im going with glossy black gills and smoked lens (IND) to match the glossy trim. I do have matte kidneys but now wish i went with glossy black to match everything. Plus i just got my 220Ms powder coated extreme gloss black. So its starting to look more uniform with glossy black.
I recommend, like most of the people recommended me to do. Get glossy black rims. cause when its dirty, you get the matte look. So you get both options. lol

Ideally i would get the sides and hood vents to match your grille which is in this case matte. I personally went with gloss black and couldn't be happier.
If I were in your shoes, I would probably jsut buy another set of gloss black grilles

Not the best pic, but I love the glossy black gills and tinted lenses. I have the glossy kidney grills and really like them too.

In this case I think everything (except splitters) in gloss black is more appealing.

Awesome feedback!! This has been extremely helpful and I'm now leaning towards the gloss look. Not a 100% convinced though!

IMO, go with Edition grills and side gills, I had matte ones and just changed it for the Edition and it is A LOT less cheap lookin + it fits better with the window trims, wheels and carbon fiber parts, 100% sure you'll be happy with that desicion!! I would also say to not touch the hood vents but if you really want to make them look bigger, put the matte one, they'll fit with your lower bumper grills!
Here's some pics of my car I took today after installing my summer tires, it gives you an idea of how the Edition parts fits with the Performance parts and ZCP wheels! Have fun costumizing your ride! |

+1 to Edition parts!
I have them and they are truly beautiful. Much better looking (and more sturdy/substantial/well built) than the cheapo looking matte black plastic ones.

This is very helpful!
I have CF roof, mineral white e92, matte black gts ZCP wheels, ind painted reflectors and OEM gloss black kidney grills on the way. Trying to find OEM gloss black side markers, are they out there? Seems IND has OEM CF side markers...leaning that way. Any guidance would be appreciated! |
